5/$120m for Batum
Back to Charlotte.
Back to Charlotte.
Mozgov was taken out of the Cavs rotation permenantly last year strictly because of poor play. They traded for Frye because of how bad he is. Acting like this contract is normal for a non-rotation player is insanenolafan33 said:Look at what similar players got in the past and project, it's not hard to figure out what guys like Mozgov and Noah were going to get.
Drummond's gonna wait to actually sign until they use their space, he basically had already said that, but yeah I was hoping for a little bit better at 2nd PG, now on to PFPapa Pugzo said:pistons closing in with drummond 5/$130M, ish smith reportedly agreed to a 3yr deal with detroit

I guess I'm insane then. Anyone who truly understands the values of this league, how coaches, GM's, and players think, and especially how the salary cap works saw this coming. It isn't a surprise. I said as much the other day.elcheato said:Mozgov was taken out of the Cavs rotation permenantly last year strictly because of poor play. They traded for Frye because of how bad he is. we need more shooters to help stretch but i do like his game. im more worried about who else we'll signnolafan33 said:I think you'll really like him
The amount Mozgov got isn't unreasonable when you consider the Lakers need to get to the salary floor, the fact that they gave him 4 years at that is ridiculousnolafan33 said:I guess I'm insane then. Mozgov is 2 years younger than Noahelcheato said:Right, if I asked you before free agency about Mozgov, this would have been your answer. I'm not talking other big men, I'm talking about Mozgov.
While the Noah contract isn't that great, he at least was a top tier talent at a point, and maybe if he gets healthy he'll return to some of that form. It is a lot different with Mozgov. He isn't young, and he lost his job due to performance on a team that had zero center depth. His new deal is equivalent to 12 million per last year, and if he signed that deal right now under the old cap I'd be saying the same thing. This ain't the guy from last years playoffs
Honestly, if I were to say anything surprised me its that he 1) signed so quickly, and 2) because of how quickly he signed he didn't get like 18M or somethingBNC said:The amount Mozgov got isn't unreasonable when you consider the Lakers need to get to the salary floor, the fact that they gave him 4 years at that is ridiculous
