Maybe. There's a lot of risk. The Sox haven't had luck with prep school pitchers in the past.

If they were gonna go with a HS pitcher, I would have preferred Groome.
 
 
This Manning guy who they took is apparently gonna cost a lot to sign, which is also the case with Groome and Groome's got more upside. The Tigs just don't ever take risks in the draft or in international signings and the farm system has been, and will continue to be awful.

Apparently Groome grew up a Red Sox fan. Hopefully that boosts the odds of signing him. Still going to cost more than the slot bonus.

I dont learn about prospects til they start lighting up the minors anyways. So if theyre new itll be in like august but mainly next year, or years

Then team bloggers talk them up and you trade them for guys and think you gave up too much then never hear about them again lol
