2016-2017 Offseason Thread

They didn't spend a shit load but they did try to go all out by trading for Eaton, Shields, and Frazier, spending on Melky, Roberson, and Abreu, and bringing in vets like Avila, Jackson, and Rollins. They were clearly trying to win and had no success. Now they're actually going through with the rebuild that should have happened years ago.

I'm glad he's not. If anything I would rather spend a little more and get Chapman.

Uehara is probably their #4 or 5 in the pen, they'll be fine.
 
Davis, Rondon, Strop, Montgomery (Likely #5 SP), Uehara/ Grimm
 
I was hoping they went out and got Holland because he would fill a hole for a few years, as Davis and Strop will hit FA next year.

I had a chance to see him pitch a couple of times.  He had pretty good stuff.  He was moving up the chain as a reliever.

Holland now an inexpensive signing for the White Sox.  Could be that they are gearing toward the flip model at the deadline that the Cubs did pretty well at the past four years.
