Adding just Butler does not make us better or comparable to Cleveland

This pick has the potential to be a superstar, and Jimmy doesn't push the needle enough alone

Now, if we had a deal in place for Melo to come over, then I'd trade the pick for Jimmy. Horford/Melo/Butler/Bradley/Isaiah is good enough to be with Cleveland. Jimmy alone is not

The rookie will be paid $27m over the next four seasons, and then be paid a max deal hopefully, but he's young. If he turns out to be a star, he'll be peaking post-Lebron.

Butler will be paid $28.5m over the next two seasons, and then be a free agent asking for a max deal at 5% higher rates. His peak and play is now, during the Lebron era.

If you don't think you can make the Finals, you don't trade the pick for Butler. That's where the Celtics are right now in my mind. If we could get Melo for 2018 BOS 1st + expiring contracts, and maybe Yabusele abroad or something, then I have no problem at all trading the pick and Jaylen (and maybe Crowder; Id prefer to move Bradley but Chicago wouldn't want him) for Butler

It's all about opportunity window. I want the Celtics this offseason to trade Isaiah and Bradley while their values are at high points to gain additional assets. You win while you have Brooklyn tanking for you, and while 2018 BKN 1st could be very beneficial for us, they could get a lot better as well and mitigate the value

U do realize getting defensive rebounds is part of defending and protecting your rim right?

Rebounds go into defense too bc u have to rebound the ball to finish the defensive possesion

Would think an AAU coach would teach u such things but forgot u started watching basketball in 08 so u didnt even play basketball

Obviously it's a part of defense but it's the only thing you ever bring up, then Mexi mentions his rim protecting and you go on to say there's so much more to being a good defender, why not mention these things along with the rebounding? It just looks like you cherry pick these stats

Cavs should sign Lance over Rio, so much more potential there. Rio isn't going to push them past the Warriors, Lance probably won't either but he can bring more of the things they need
