thats the thing

nobody is denying westbrook is putting up great numbers. but the ONLY reason for westbrook as MVP is because he gets 2 more rebounds a game than Harden. They're point guards -- 8 rebounds a game for a PG is really freaking good too. Harden shoots on better efficiency, has more assists, and has taken his team to a better record. The argument that Russ deserves MVP because he averages more rebounds is just dumb as shit
Or uuuuhhh maybe people arguing him getting these scrubs to 4-6 seed a year after their franchise player left and ibaka ?? +++ the triple double....

No ones fucking saying he has to win bc he has two more rebounds u fucking moron

Shut your fucking mouth

Literally the youngest team in the nba age wise, a year after their franchise player left, ibaka, and hes close to getting 50 wins

They got 55 last year...

Maybe THATS why people are arguing that he should win it

Not bc two more fucking rebounds

Literally a retard over there

"Close to 50" -- that means finishing 10-3 to end the year. I'd venture they finish with 47-48 wins, which won't even get them a home game to start the playoffs.

Rockets are going to finish around 56 wins on the year. Doesn't matter if the Thunder's roster is worse than the Rockets -- neither roster is good. I'd rather have a player carry a pretty bad team to 56 wins than a player carry a very bad team to 48 wins. Houston has shooting but they lack defense (outside of Beverley). Thunder have a ton of defensive pieces that the Rockets just lack completely. Its a two-way argument. OKC is slightly over-achieving expectations, and the Rockets are destroying theirs.

Also the Thunder do not have the youngest roster... they're tied for 12th youngest, and are older than playoff teams like Boston, Toronto, Washington in age, proving that it really doesn't mean anything.

The award is most VALUABLE player

Carrying a "pretty bad" and a "very bad" team should go into consideration.

Also what needs to go into consideration is how much westbrook brings to the team vs how much harden does. And dont just look at the stats. Usage is important, plus and minus with them on and off the court matters, defensive ratings , all of that does. Not just bc russ has two more rebounds smh.

Okc slightly over achieving? Eahh literally all of you said 10th seed and laughed in my face about a possible 4th seed and look where were at now, 2 games back vs most of you having houston way higher to start the season. So really, who is over achieving and who isnt u know

You just have to realize how much russ has to do for them to even think about a W

You guys act like these are just triple doubles and thats it, but theyre 25-6 with him getting one. He needs to do so much for them to even think about getting wins. Russ has a bad game and 9 out of 10 times its a wrap. Thats most valuable to me

And the fact that theyre in the tougher west, and its a new season without A franchise player and ibaka should also matter

What happened when franchise player lebron left the cavs? They got 15 wins, or when he left the heat? Didnt make playoffs. When a franchise player leaves a team, the team is supposed to be trash, not be close to getting 50 wins and a 4th seed. Now thats an MvP proving everyone , that he can

Shit, using this logic you should be arguing Harden for MVP. You had OKC as a 4th seed, which means they're currently underperforming your expectations whereas you didn't even have the Rockets in the playoffs meaning they are vastly outperforming your expectations.

So should it be about outperforming expectations or whatever argument favours Russ?

He's not proving anybody wrong at all...

we all knew he'd put up crazy volume stats. he's the guy who was considered overly ball dominant with durant, and with KD gone he'd be even more so... which is absolutely true.

I thought OKC would be a 41-44 win team, and an 8 seed. They're looking to be slightly ahead of that in the win total, and despite you constantly talking about being the 4 seed, a betting man would say by the end of tomorrow night they're going to be slotted 7th in the West, not 4th.

Nobody is surprised to what Westbrook is doing. Everyone is a lot more shocked at Harden taking a 41 win team, having their 2nd best player not on the team, and they are already 6 games better than last year with 12 games remaining.

And if we're going the +/- route in terms of impact, then Lebron easily deserves the MVP (which I would have no problem with).
