Mexi do you actually think they should do it? I might be the only one on that bandwagon

One problem with Melo on the Cavs would be not having a long enough trial and error phase to become acquainted with each other.
LeBron's been through that building phase with other star players twice now and it never worked from the get go.

So the Cavs trade a guy who has already become accustomed to a heavy spot up role, for a guy who has never done it, and is actually a worse shooter than the guy he'd be replacing.

Seems smart

The only reason to trade away Kevin Love is to get someone with a comparable offensive game but a significant defensive upgrade

That's not Melo

Disagreed. He's played with both LeBron and Irving with USA basketball over the years. I dont think it'd be a problem at all.

who starts when love is out for the season?

Korver and Bron to the 4?
Frye? Jefferson and bron to 4?
Derrick williams?

I think that's a different beast altogether. There was so much talent on team USA that there wasn't a real hierarchy and nobody really cared about individual stats or fame over like a 7 game stretch.
Substitute Angola with the Wizards in a game 7 and Melo is probably gonna think differently about being a spot up shooter.

I mean you can't just speculate about injuries. You know whose knee could require surgery if you look at it the wrong way? Melo's.

I don't think Melo goes to the cavs trying to be the same player he is on the Knicks. He knows it's not his team.
