I would be thrilled. Obviously, the following years of mediocrity would be tough but Harden has already revealed himself to not be a championship piece as a first option so I'd rather start the rebuilding process now. Unless Houston decides to build its offense around Dwight and Harden joins the floor-spacing attack, Houston will never win a championship, and will likely never even see the Conference Finals again. We all knew that was a fluke and the beginning of this season only reinforces that knowledge.

James Harden is far from the problem. Houston needs a 2nd option next to him who can share some of his play making responsibility. Houston loses when Harden plays poorly, because they don't have any other play makers who can pick up his slack. 
 
You can't build a team or an offense around Dwight Howard. He's not the player he was in Orlando.
