Didn't realize Kobe went off in his last game against the Celtics the other night. Fitting though.

also, fwiw. from Sports Illustrated's Andrew Sharp last week

one of the three best coaches in basketball, one of the most stable organizations in sports, and a roster that is one piece away from scaring the crap out of the whole league. Boston makes a lot of sense. As a Wizards fan, this would be heartbreaking. As a fan of Kevin Durant, I'm pretty sure this is the option I want the most.

He'd be in the East, he would be going to team with as rich of a history as anywhere in the league, and he'd probably average 35-a-game playing in that offense. From a marketing standpoint, it would put him on an even bigger platform than he's had in Oklahoma City. From a basketball standpoint, it would allow him the best chance (outside of OKC) to max out his ability.

The Celtics can clear enough space to sign Durant and another star—Al Horford?—and they'll also have the Nets draft pick for the next three years, ensuring that they can stay flexible as he gets deeper into his prime. If Durant decides that it's time to leave Oklahoma City and try something new, this is one of the only teams that actually has a credible a chance at building a team to beat the Warriors. It would be so much fun to watch them try together.

its not just the boston homer in me. this is a legitimate possibility

Boston is like a white people big market more than anything.

A Durant led Celtic team still #2 in the east anyway

I've also never argued that it isn't a potentially logical destination, I've argued that it's not realistic

Bosox no one is saying Boston won't be considered. But he's not going there.

That is the first time you've ever said Boston will be considered, though.

Yeah I think he'll consider, realize that it's not a good destination for him, and then not go there lol.

I think you sort of have to really know the difference between a meeting and a visit. There are probably quite a few teams that will get to meet with him, but how many will actually get a visit? That's when you're big time.

and the lakers have the most cap space in the league, a potential Top 3 pick, and KD has a home in LA where he spends his time in the summer. It's also the biggest NBA market, with it being known as the place for nba stars

I wouldn't choose the lakers personally because of the coaching in place (not that they wouldnt fire byron if durant wanted to), but its absolutely a possibility

he could easily sign a 1 year deal in okc with the intent that he and westbrook both be lakers the next year

Morey and Harden deserve all the blame for this dumpster fire.

If Houston misses the playoffs, does this confirm that Harden sucks and is overrated?
