Only because Memphis doesn't have a superstar like the rest do. They have ton of depth and are probably the best defensive team out there (Warriors did great as well)

I have them LAC, because of that bench. Outside their first three or four guys that's not an impressive roster. Going to be incredibly dysfunctional as well.

Houston, idk I guess I agree, I still am surprised when I see they were a 2 seed, that team doesn't scare me. Has never scared me.

Okay that's fine but the Pelicans aren't scaring anybody either by that logic

Doc rivers is great at reeling in bad egos too. It wouldn't surprise me if that bench ended up being an asset for them.

I know, I'm just saying in retrospect of Houston vs New Orleans. Say like we go into Golden State, I'm pretty positive it's a loss. We play Houston though, I think that's a pretty even game, especially now that this franchise isn't trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

I don't think that New Orleans team was good enough to win playoff games last year, and that's partly because of injuries, but still

IDK, but to me the Clippers roster looks definitely more impressive than New Orleans', even with excluding the top 3 from each team

I think you match them up against anyone against Golden State and the series goes to 6 or 7 games. If injuries strike again it's all for nothing, but to me we are going from a head coach that played the opposite of the way the team was built to play, and you MASSIVELY upgraded the entire coaching staff. What does that count for? I think this could be a team that sees a 10+ game improvement.

Going to be hard to improve THAT much in the crowded west, but we'll see. Regardless, they aren't on the same tier as LAC, period.

They have one positional upgrade over the Clippers, and its the best PF in the league compared to the 2nd best PF in the league

Its not even close

If you think that supporting cast is better then I don't know what to tell you. That Clippers team is dysfunction waiting to happen. I know we have been through this with you hundreds of times but you continue to think this is 2K, but fit will overrule talent any day of the week. That Clippers depth fits together horrifically.

Not to mention I'm a little thrown off by the players you listed. What was that criteria? Toney Douglas will likely not even be on this roster in three days.

I listed the people from the roster, offered by NBA.com and ESPN.com. I did forget Gordon (which is my mistake), but IDK, who do you want to replace Douglas with: Ajinca? Perkins? Neither really proves any point.

If it's not close they would have won way more than 11 games when four of our top 6 players missed 100 games and we had one of the worst coaching staffs in the league. This is a moronic statement.

Their top 3 is better, I don't think their supporting cast is better though. You have Redick and Pierce, and after that...Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford, Lance Stephenson, Glen Davis, Josh Smith...Compared to Asik, Anderson, Gordon, Cole, Pondexter, Ajinca, and Cunningham?

The talent is better on LAC's side, but again fit will overrule talent every time in these cases and GM Doc did a horrific job putting those guys together. They're going to be terrible, may even see a fist fight break out amongst teammates.

I'm not saying we are better, but LAC isn't winning 58+ games and this Pelicans team isn't winning any less than 54 games if healthy. They're close.

3 of the players you named on the Pelicans wouldn't even crack the clippers rotation

That's fine, Doc the GM has proven he can't put together a supporting cast. He's just gonna get "names" that won't play well together. I'll take fit.

Point remains as well, these are two teams that will be within a couple games of each other at the end of the season and both will be second or first round outs.

I think Doc's supporting cast is just fine if he tweaks his starting lineup. Put Lance at the 2. Bring Redick, Crawford, and Smith off the bench. It's a pretty simple decision. You maximize Lance by letting him figure out his teammates so he can do what he does. He can't do that at less than 20 minutes a game.

There's also the added bonus of allowing JJ to focus more on scoring off the bench than being an all-around player as a starter. It saves his energy and gives him a more defined role.
