Report: Greg Oden Working Out For Hornets, Mavericks

The first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, Greg Oden has only managed to stay healthy for parts of three NBA seasons (2008-10 in Portland and 2013-14 in Miami) but according to a report, he’s still getting looks around the League. Last week, Oden worked out for the Charlotte Hornets, and this week he will work out for the Dallas Mavericks. The Grizzlies are also reportedly keeping an eye on Oden. Can he make an NBA comeback?
From RealGM:

As Greg Oden attempts a return in the NBA, the former No. 1 overall pick worked out for the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday and will visit the Dallas Mavericks this week, league sources told RealGM.

Oden will be part of the Mavericks’ free-agent mini-camp that includes wings and several big men, such as Keith Benson. The 7-foot Oden had worked out for the Memphis Grizzlies in the spring, and the franchise is expected to continue to monitor him.

Lakers Rumors: Dwyane Wade, L.A. Have ‘Mutual Interest’ In Free Agency

The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be one of the major players in free agency and will have plenty of cap room to offer to a number of players. One name who has come up recently is Miami Heat guard, Dwyane Wade.
Wade is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with the Heat and according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, there is mutual interest between the two parties:
Signing Wade would not be a move geared towards the future as Wade is now 33 years old and entering the downside of his career. However, the Lakers are planning on spending their money and if the team strikes out on the younger big names available, they could opt for a short-term option with Wade.

It still seems highly unlikely at this stage that Wade would leave the Heat, whom he has helped lead to three NBA Championships and is arguably the best player in that franchise’s history. If the two sides are unable to come to an agreement, however, the Lakers could very well come calling as the front office is looking to make a splash.
Wade has played in less than 70 games in each of the last four seasons, including 62 last year. He was effective when on the floor, averaging 21.2 points and 4.8 assists in nearly 32 minutes per night.

Kobe, Rondo and Wade. The Lakers would have the best backcourt if it was 2011.

detroit is interested in tim hardaway and is looking to possibly deal brandon jennings. the report suggests that would be our base deal but i think that it means we like tim and brandon is on the block.

draft night could be exciting.

I forgot they have Jennings. Definitely feels like they wanna go with RJ going forward, right?

yea hes our starting point going forward. bj is coming off of the achilles injury too but is a decent sized expiring and supposedly ahead of schedule.

rj is rfa though and im hoping he promised us to hold off on signing anything until after we spend money.

I'd love a deal centered around Tim and Brandon. Any value we can get out of Brandon is fine by me.
I also seen we had talks about #4 with the Knicks.
I saw this suggested by a Knicks fan:

#4
Tim Hardaway
Jose Calderon

for

#8
Brandon Jennings

And they basically do hoping WCS slides to 8, which is probably likely if Justise goes 4.
But either way, the value from 4 to 8 isn't that much of a difference, I definitely feel as if there are 8 "top" prospects in this draft.

Not really.
It's basically shedding Calderon's awful contract & 4 for 8.
I'd value BJ ahead of Tim as well.

I mean it's not a great deal, but it isn't awful.
Wasn't my idea though lol.

The two best pieces of that trade would go to Detroit.  That's how you know it's a shit deal.

That's assuming, of course, that Jennings never gets back to what he was.  I don't think Hardaway is really that good tho, tbh.
