I think Porzingis will end up being in the Mehmet Okur range at his peak.

I'm not sure posting a Bargnani scouting report proves anything, either. He went #1 based on a scouting report. Sometimes they just don't pan out
Maybe if they were similar players, but for bosox the fact that they are both white, foreign bred, jump shooting bigs is enough apparently.

You can call me stupid as much as you'd like Nola, but you have yet to ever say why you think Porzingis is worth a potential #2 overall pick.

The whole "potential" aspect cannot be used to say he's worth that pick. There are tons of Euro bigs who had this same great, cant-miss potential. And almost none of them panned out in the NBA. And like Pugz said, I wasn't necessarily comparing Porzingis to Bargs --he was just a hyped Euro bigman with similar traits that flopped in the league. If I had to make a comparison, he's a blend of Mason Plumlee and Nikola Mirotic. Not as great of a shooter as Mirotic, not as good of an attacker as Plumlee. I don't think he'll be a bad player in the league, but he won't be a starter. From the #2 overall pick, you look for cornerstone players to build a franchise around. I personally don't see a superstar player like you do, but PLEASE tell me your actual analysis and not some crap like dissing Okafor for proclaiming Kris. Actually tell me why.

Through my personal evaluations, I see Jahlil Okafor as a Day 1 starter. Right away, he'll play the way Al Jefferson was while he was in Utah as like a 5 year pro or something. If he gets great conditioning and coaching, he could exceed AlJeff, who is one of the better bigs in the league. Okafor has great understanding for post scoring, and through even more development could be exceptional. He could be very similar to how Boogie Cousins is, offensively speaking. Defensively I see him similar to Perkins in Boston was. Can use his body to match up decently against some players, but can easily be a liability too.

Porzingis is not a Day 1 starter. He's super young, and does not have the body to handle big men like Ibaka, Aldridge, Randolph, Love, etc. If he bulked up and just got better at general NBA skills, he'd be a very lite-version of Dirk. 17-18ppg scorer as the #2-3 option for the team. His floor, however, isn't good, and that's my biggest concern. I don't think Okafor has the highest ceiling at all, but he has a very high floor level. At extreme worst case, he's a Jordan Hill type of guy. With Porzingis? He could easily have a type of career where he can't get adjusted to the size of NBA big men, and is a Channing Frye type of player.

I just cannot see justifying Porzingis at #2. Don't want to take Okafor? That's fine. I can easily see arguments for Russell and Mudiay over him. But not Kristaps

I'm not going to read all of this, but I haven't given you a reason for why he's worth #2 because I have never said he was worth #2.
