He said what lol
Sometimes I think Mayock just says things to be different and distance himself from other draft guys. Jeezus Christ.
I do like Mayock, but this is just another situation like when he had Gerald McCoy over Ndamukong Suh.

Gerald McCoy is a beast tho

Suh gets more attention due to market & name, and Suh is a slightly better pas rusher, but McCoy is filthy, in terms of stuffing the run, and providing solid pass rush. McCoy might have had as solid production with Detroit as with TB and visa versa

Plus, it's not like he's terribly off or something.

Texans run a 3-4 defense. Many predict Clowney CAN run a 4-3 SLB, but it hasn't been proven he can

Mack has played 3-4 OLB however in college. In all actuality, Clowney has a better chance at busting as a rush LB than Mack does. As an overall player? No. But as a 3-4 LB, yes. Mack, per system, is the safest pick in the draft outside Matthews

Clowney has the size and strength to succeed at the 5-tech, and the athleticism to learn how play in coverage.  If you're the Texans, why not go for the guy with scheme versatility? (he also played inside at SC on occasion)  They already have Mercilus and Reed at rush linebacker, and Antonio Smith is a free agent.  Stick with your one-gap scheme, and put Clowney at 5-tech, and move him around in different packages. They'll have themselves a monster, and opposing teams will have no idea where he's coming from.

I have a hard time rooting for Seantrel, but he looks the part.  Very impressive athlete for a lineman.  He's so lazy on the field, though.  Incredibly inconsistent.

He was largely a rotational player on the right side during his entire career because of his work ethic problems.  With his talent, he should have been a day one starter at left tackle since his sophomore year.  Extremely disappointing player at the college level, but he still has the talent to be a starting left tackle in the NFL.

Also, Pat O'Donnel will be the best punter in the NFL one day.  I'd have absolutely no problem drafting him as early as round five.

Su'a-Filo should be the first guard taken. Top 26 lock.

He'll be a killer for those who want a run blocking guard. I still think Yankey or Zach Martin is the best pass blocking guard

The Texans aren't running the 1-gap defense though. Crennel and O'Brien have said that they are moving to a 2-gap 3-4 "multiple defense"

He'll be a steal if he's off the Coke.

If there's any sign that he's not I don't see any team taking a chance on him.

Niklas' hands are just so damn smooth. He comes back to the ball aggressively. Good cuts.

He is in my mind, without a doubt, the #2 TE in this draft. Almost a Rd1 lock imo

Tre Mason met with Titans. Said he's been consistently running 4.3's.

That's fine and dandy, but he seems to me to lose that speed on long runs. Still crazy quick through the hole when he decides to go though. I'd like him with the Titans if he was the lead and Greene was the compliment.
