That is such a Mornhinweg move.

If they didn't take Griffin they would have taken Cousins in the 2nd or 3rd. They had said he was the #3 QB on their board (after Luck and Griffin). So they could have taken Cousins where you had them taking Osweiler, or another skill position guy, and waiting until the 3rd if they wanted for Cousins.bosoxlover12 said:So lets say they didnt do the trade.
#6 overall, they dont go QB. They traded up for Griffin because they didnt like Tannehill clearly. So #6, they go BAP, which at the time was Mark Barron.
#39, 2nd round, they don't have a QB yet, so might as well take one now. The next QB taken in the 2nd? Brock Osweiler.
For the 2013 Draft, they picked at 22. Without RG3, not a chance in the world they finish that good. Probably inside the Top 12, but for now, lets just give them 22.
So at 22, what do the Skins need? Probably a corner most, so they go who actually went 22, Trufant.
And finally, the #2 overall pick. Robinson? Bortles? Who knows.
Obviously this isn't a great way to say how to value a trade, but its the best I've got. I think the Skins absolutely made the right move

He had a great year. But we all knew what they were doing offensively was a gimmick. He has not improved as a passer since then, and due to the gimmick being figured out, he now has been playing poorly. It was a short term success offense, that was going to be sustained, and he hasn't adapted.elcheato said:If anyone goes back and looks at RG3s rookie season and comes back saying he didn't look like a franchise QB or did not have the potential to be one, then they're lying.
Kirk Cousins completed 22-of-33 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's Week 2 blowout of the Jaguars.
Robert Griffin suffered a potentially serious ankle injury on the second series of the game, bringing Cousins on in relief. The third-year man immediately shredded, completing his first 14 passes while showing total command of the Jay Gruden scheme from the pocket. He did it without DeSean Jackson (shoulder) and Jordan Reed (hamstring), but with Niles Paul (8-99-1). It's a lot like what we saw in the preseason when Cousins thoroughly outplayed RG3. Cousins will be a fine QB2 play against the Eagles in Week 3 if Griffin remains sidelined.
