The product the league puts out there on Thursday nights is and always will be shitty. I've stopped even getting my hopes up.

Well don't they do it because most are NFL Network games and they just want people to make sure the channel is on their cable package?  This one they just had was on CBS because they are trying to prime the audience to anticipate Thursday night games, and they tried to offer a good divisional rivalry even though it kind of backfired because the PIT/BAL game was completely shitty football.  They're doing the same next week on CBS with a divisional rivalry in ATL/TB and then on CBS in week 4 with NYG/WAS, both games will also probably be totally shitty football.

It's all divisional rivalry on Thursday night, and once those games go to NFLN on week 5, they hope people will care enough to make sure they have the channel.

Ironically sadly for them, these CBS Thursday night games in the first four weeks look totally shitty.  Once the games go to NFLN, they get much better.  From weeks 5 to 9, the games are MIN/GB, IND/HOU, NYJ/NE, SD/DEN and NO/CAR.

The only reason they have games on thursdays is because networks will pay a shitload of money to show them. They don't care about the quality of play as long as they're making money.

Well there's the extra add revenue too, that's why half are on NFLN. They aren't gonna give that up and if they can get a major network to pay 275M for 8 games they're gonna take it.

I'm proud of the Saints for not having players that hit people off the field. They've been practicing not hitting anyone at all lately which is why they couldn't tackle the Falcons.

This TNF game shouldn't have been shitty, though. You can't fault this matchup at all, imo. They're trying to make sure the games are more interesting, by the looks of it.

By all accounts, Bucs/Falcons should be a good game, next week.

I'm willing to write one more prediction thread, tonight. Any particular division people would like to see? NFC North and East are done, already, and AFC North has already had a head to head matchup, so it'd be very short if that one was chosen.

I still don't know what he was talking about

Apparently he was taking a stance against child abuse.

I watched a video of his actual take on the Peterson thing, and he actually said semi-smart things, where the message was basically "don't act like your parents did towards you because you don't know any better"

Although that's easier said than done. How your parents treated you is all you know. It's a culture. My parents rarely disciplined me and never hit me, so I'm likely to have the same approach, opposed to someone who was abused or just disciplined heavily. They are more likely to act the same with their kids.

I never listen to what Ray Lewis says, because it's usually garbage and sometimes hypocritical

Browns going with a hurry up/no huddle offense early. Really hope they stick with it. If Hoyer relay plays consistently without a huddle, that's a huge weapon to use to make up for the gap in talent.
