I always debate ty lawson and conley lol
Lawson isn't in that same sentence because of his defense. People underestimate just how good Conley is offensively.

I mean the argument is pointless because you're building a team, but I know if I was building around a PG my foundation would be a whole lot stronger than Kyrie or Lillard.
Easy to say with the fifth pick.

30 out of 30 GM's in the NBA would take Kyrie over Conley. Including the Grizzlies'.
Right now? I don't think that is the case at all.

If we are talking about a team that wants to win now the smart guys will take Conley. If they are building for down the road they take Irving.

I mean I want an actual reason for why you think so highly of Kyrie. Not wanting a argument or something, but I mean as a all around player I don't think Kyrie is on Conleys level. Kyrie scores, that's it. You can argue that he doesn't do that great either. What else does he do?

3rd in all PGs in PPG/100... I think he scores just fine

Kyrie per 100: 30.5ppg, 8.9apg, 5.4rpg, 2.2spg
Conley per100: 27.4ppg, 9.6apg, 4.7rpg, 2.4spg

Kyrie is better, not to mention 4 years younger, and hasn't even come close to hitting his peak

If you want to take Anthony Davis as the #3-5 overall pick in this fantasy draft, over guys like Al Jeff, Blake, LMA, then its clear that we are taking future play into consideration. Its not even close, like CC said: EVERY GM would take Kyrie

Scoring more points per 100 equals being better? Come on, that's a weak argument. Kyrie is going to score more than Conley in every way you look at, no matter what number you bring up, etc.

And Steph is a great scorer, is Kyrie on the same level as Steph scoring? I think he's a notch below.

And I wouldn't have taken Davis at 3-5, not right now from what we know. I don't even know if he's a top 2 PF, much else a top 3-5 player in the league. Ask me a year from now and maybe that has changed.

And I just couldn't disagree more with every GM taking Kyrie. If they were to play Game 7 of the NBA Finals tomorrow all the smart GM's would take Conley because of the bigger impact in the game because of all the things he does at a higher level than Kyrie.

I've said this a 100 times, Kyrie scores, that's it. Conley does it all. He scores, does it more efficiently, he gets others involved (makes his teammates better), doesn't turn the ball over, plays excellent defense, turns the opponent over, and just has a bigger impact on the game because he's a complete point guard, something Kyrie is not.

Give Kyrie Z-Bo and Gasol down low and see how much more efficient he is offensively and nkw much more he'll get his teammates involved and make them better.

I don't get how Kyrie "only scores" when his career-low in AST% (this year) is higher than Conley's career high in AST% (this year).

Grizzlies run their offense through Gasol and ZBo.

Or when he plays with Lebron and maybe Kevin Love this year

You're right, the numbers are all over the place depending where you look.

Yeah apparently ESPN's and bbref's AST% formulas are completely different.

Still though, do you honestly think that Kyrie wouldn't look much more efficient with Z-Bo and Gasol on his team? He's been playing with hot garbage in Cleveland

Not just ESPN and bballref, pretty much every stats site is different. And I'm not talking subtle, it's drastic.

And maybe he would, but I'm not talking about efficiency. I'm talking the difference in overall im

And I don't know, I'm just not buying that Kyrie has a bigger impact on the overall game until he proves it. I don't know if it's that people overrate Kyrie offensively or underrate Conley offensively (I think it's Conley being underrated) but there isn't that much gap between the two. Not nearly as big of a gap as there is defensively anyway. And if Kyrie is like a 8 offensively and Conley is a 6.5, that does not make up for the fact that Conley is a 9 defensively and Kyrie is like a 4.

I know y'all balk at the whole number idea, but I don't know how else to get the point across. Call Kyrie better all you want, but there is no chance that a one way player has a bigger impact on the game and for his team than a guy that plays two ways and is above average on both ends. I don't care how many flashy plays and ESPN highlights Kyrie has, that will never be the case.
