Sticking with defense, I like the foundation I've built with George and Conley.
I like it. Two steals imo. Just need another guy that can create on the wing or a post threat.

That's the plan :) almost went post threat here but I feel like 1 was more important.

The guy gets buckets. Offense really gets underated here at times.
I don't really think there was a better scorer left on the board aside from Rose snd Kobe.

With my first two picks I wanted to get a center and a (shooting) guard because those are two weakest positions in the league.

I'm probably not building an ultimate contender, but who really is? The best players are too dominant anyways. That's how it is in real life and that's how it's here.
Yes, yes it does. Nola gonna have a heart attack if he reads this, but to me, offense is at least 70% of the game, compared to 30% defense.

Probably, but I was considering him with my second pick as well.

I would've considered him had I not had George already. But I do think it was a slight reach.

I don't mind you saying that, but it has to be sarcastic. 60/40 at most. I'm not going to sit here and say that coaches spend more time working defensively than offensively, because that's not true. In actuality the amount of time spent working on offense to defense isn't even close. I probably spent damn near 85% of my own practice time this year working on offensive skills, sets, etc.

And I'm not the majority on this forum, offense isn't overrated in the least bit. I'd argue it's overrated, because in no world is Kyrie and Lillard better all around players than Mike Conley. They are voted for because they are big names, but where my arguments come in is where a guy scores, but does very little else for you. That's Kyrie and Lillard, neither guy plays a lick of defense, neither will impact the game with their passing. I mean can anyone really sit here and say Kyrie and Lillard are vastly superior offensively? Can anyone even say they are great offensively? And it would be disrespectful to mention them in the same sentence defensively.

I mean the argument is pointless because you're building a team, but I know if I was building around a PG my foundation would be a whole lot stronger than Kyrie or Lillard.

Here's a post about Lillard from a while back:
I think you have to place a premium on two way players. I mean sure Lillard put up 20.7 points a game, but he also only shot 42% from the field. Puts him at 19th highest effenciecy for starting PG's and 31st amongst all rotational PG's. Then you look at his defense, and it's BAD. I don't know if you give a guy brownie points for trying, but I would legimately rate him somewhere between 19 and 21 in terms of starting PG's in the league.

I also believe you have to place a premium on guys who can do multiple things. If Lillard is struggling to score, what else will he do for you? I know the solution for most if they can't hit from the outside is to get to the rim, but he shoots only 52.9% at the rim. Look at guys like Lowry at 59%, Jrue at 56%, Conley at 63%, Bledsoe at 67%, CP3 at 69%, Parker and Curry at 63%. So he cant really get to the rim and finish effectively. I have already touched on his defense, so if his shot isn't falling he isn't a guy you will be able to look at and say "at least he's still going to play great defense" like a Conley, Bledsoe, Holiday, Lowry, Westbrook, or Wall. Will he be able to get others involved with his distributing skills? His 21.3% assist rate is WELL below average for PG's and ranks him 28th amongst stating PG's. Only guys that were worse were Patrick Beverly and Brandon Knight. In the games in which he scored 15 or less points he only averaged 4.7 assists per. He wont even turn the opponent over because he only generates 0.78 steals per game, which is a dismal ranking of 22nd amongst 30 starters. He isn't even eligible for STL/TO or ST/PF. I know it doesn't mean much for a PG, but he doesn't rebound well for his position either, 19th amongst starters.

So that's my sell on Lillard. I know some people place a value on points, as do I, but like ive said on many different occasions PPG is just a raw stat that is meant for casual fans that doesnt reflect in how effectively a player us scoring and doesnt account for so many different factors. And I know people love the sexy play and Sportscenter highlights, but I cant even view him as a top 10 PG in the league currently.

I can say Kyrie is great offensively. His handles are unreal, he can create his own shot easily, and has a good and improving outside game, to say a few

There's absolutely a zero percent chance that Mike Conley is better than Kyrie Irving, fwiw

Yeah, but what happened to the Dufrains?  No one seems to care.  Who can eat at a time like this?!  People are missing!
