Davis is gonna be the best player in the league in two to three years time.

Well Lebron probably has four more seasons of his prime at the least.  I can't see any player taking the crown of best player in the NBA away from Lebron as long as Lebron is playing his A game.  I mostly agree with your premise though.  Davis will see a day where he is called the best player in the NBA, and even if he is called the 2nd best player in the NBA while Lebron is in his prime, that's not too shabby either.

KD is still only 25 and AD is 21 so it still might be a while before AD is the top player in the nba.

KD is wonderful but if AD is going to be a prime Kevin Garnett type player and possibly to a level higher, he's going to be a more valued player than KD.

1. He won't be as good as prime KG
2. KD will be better than Davis for the next 6+years, unless KD regresses significantly. And thats the opposite of what will happen; KD's working on his post game, and once he masters that, he'll be the best offensive stud in the game since TMac/AI

If he continues to progress from season to season he'll be better than prime KG.

Jesus christ, THIS is why I'm not on the Davis hype train

Garnett is a 1st ballet HOFer, Top 3 PF of all time. Calling Davis THAT good after two years is simply just fucking stupid.

Now it just feels like you're hating on ad cause kg was a celtic. Davis has shown the possibility is real.

All he said was, "If he continues to progress from season to season..."

Which, if he continues to progress at this rate, he'll be better than prime KG by the time he's 24 years old.  In Davis' second year, he's just as good as KG was as a seven year veteran.

It's not absurd to think that he could end up being just as good as KG by the time he hangs em up, if not better.  A lot could happen between now and then, however.

lolwat

I was talking about KG strictly as a TWolves player, not as a Celtic. KG was past his prime in Boston, although his defensive intensity was unreal, hence his DPOY.

I have never been under the AD hype train. When I see highly touted prospects coming out of college, I look to see how they play. In 07, I loved Durant, and was a bit upset when pre-lotto, they showed all the Celts fans wearing Oden 20 jerseys (of course I was more upset when we didn't get #1/#2, but eh, we got banner 17 anyways..). Durant I knew was going to be special, because I saw his ability in college. Same went for Blake Griffin. I picked OU to win the National Title because of Blake (they lost in the 2nd round). The Calipari Guys: Rose, Wall, Boogie... I loved them all coming out of school, as the highly touted prospects, and they've all panned out.

So i saw UK's Anthony Davis, who people were saying "this kid will be a Top 5 player in the NBA soon". From what I saw in the tournament, Davis was, to me, Thabeet. A thin elite shot blocker, but nothing offensively stood out. He was not carrying the team offensively. So from Day 1, I have not liked Anthony Davis. To me, a Top 5 player needed an elite offensive game, and he absolutely did not have that.

AD gets drafted by New Orleans, and now I only hear Nola's annoying comments on how they got the GOAT, and so on. And throughout the rookie season, he went on and on about how talented he was. While to you guys who liked him, it showed progress of AD for you guys, to me it was a BWare/Lowry/Parsons situation again; a player getting mad overhyped. After his rookie season, he did not deserve to be called a future Top 5 player.

So now we are after two years. Davis had a very good sophomore season, and is probably a Top 5 PF at this point, since Dirk and Timmy are older. Blake, LMA, and Love are ahead of him still, for right now. And now, after a season like this, I can potentially see "Davis will be a top 7 player once Lebron retires". So I go to hear tons of people saying that he's going to be better than Prime KG? I've heard he'll be the best player in the NBA in 2-3 years?? It's Davis's overhyping that really does not make me like him. When he finally reaches his statistical output that puts him in the Top 5, I'll give him his due. But as of right now still, there is no chance I'm personally saying Davis will be a Top 3 player, better than Garnett (who I've personally ranked as the best PF of all time due to his physicality, despite all you Timmy lovers)

AD was way more advanced offensively in college than Thabeet was
