Which is why you trade some of those young guys like Thompson for vets.
Lets be honest, Thompson isn't pulling anything in that would make Griffin anymore comfortable. A top 5 pick though?

Again, not saying I'm siding with this argument, just playing devils advocate. This is how GM's think.

Not the point. The argument is based on getting rid of some youth. Doesn't really matter what there talent level is.

I'd move down to #2 with Milwaukee with the threat of other teams moving up to take Parker, that way we end up with the superior Wiggins at #2, and whatever asset the Bucks give up. Not moving down with any of these other offers.

Julius Randle blew off his 2nd work out with the Celtics, and it was presumed to be so he could attend a GQ photo shoot, but that no longer seems to be the case.

It seems he just really doesn't want to be a Celtic as a lifelong Lakers fan, as reported by Bleacher Report.  I'm not sure if that's a smart move, but it's a pretty boss move.  Man I love me some Julius Randle.

BR also speculates he might have a promise from Utah at 5.

The argument is about getting veteran players that win you big games.

But now, who gives a shit?
No reason for laker fans to hate jeff green or avery bradley or sully of faverini

Like when laker fans talk about hoping boston loses, etc, its like who gives a shit?

I hope randle didnt skip his boston stuff for that

I don't think there is any reason for laker fans to hate any celtic of right now other than rondo, and kobe/pau for celts fans

But Randle skipped his workout with the C's for either a promise from Utah/LAL, or he wants to be a Laker. Plus, out of the teams in the Top 7 picks, Boston is the worst place for him, since they already have the undersized rebounding PF. Whether he is better than Sullinger or not doesnt matter; they play the same style, and therefore minutes would be severed.

I dont even want Randle

I disagree that there would be a chance to move down with Milwaukee at #2 and reap anything tangible.  I think all of these teams are very conflicted on Wiggins vs. Parker.  It should be pointed out that Wiggins' measurables are off of the charts and he really came on in the back half of Kansas' season.  The idea that Wiggins is a multi-year project is wrong, in my opinion.  I don't think there's any market to move from 1 to 2.

Also a lot of tin-foil hatting going on in this thread.  People really think Embiid is sabotaging his own draft stock to go to a certain team?  That's a whole lot of money sacrificed.  Really?

Randle is just smoke, so our plans dont seem so transparent.

From my intel on multiple places and gut intuition, the pick will be Marcus Smart if Embiid doesn't fall (or Wiggins/Parker/Exum but lol). Marcus Smart allows the Celtics to move Rondo if we get a good deal (#8, Isaiah, and McLemore), or give us backup assurance in case some whack job team overpays for Avery Bradley, in like the $8-9M range. Or at worst, he's a 6th man combo guard, which seems to be popular in todays nba

If we land #8 from Sacto, and we already took Smart, its gonna be a wing: Aaron Gordon if he's available, or Doug McDermott. #17 we take BPA really.

I'd be shocked if the Celtics didn't end up with one of Gordon/Embiid/Smart on the roster after tomorrow

The Bucks want Parker, and he wants to play there. He is their guy. I'm not saying there is much value to moving down to #2. I'm saying it's one of the few moves I would make with #1 since we're still ending up with Wiggins.

Milwaukee is very scared of drafting a player that doesnt want to play there, and will leave at first opportunity. Thats definitely Exum, and probably Wiggins and Embiid too. Parker has said he wants to be a Buck.

Utah has talked about trading for #1. Orlando, Boston, Philly, have talked about trading for #1. If Jabari Parker goes #1 and not to Milwaukee, their FO is going to be a little panicked. He's by far their #1 guy. If all they have to do is take on Jarrett Jack's contract to switch with Cleveland, I think they do it (not to mention Jack probably helps MIL a bit too, moreso than in Cleveland)

Which is a trade I make 100 times out of 100. Get rid of Jack and still get Wiggins? Sign me up.

I don't know man, I just don't buy any of it.  And Jarrett Jack is a pretty decent player, I don't believe that would be the cost.

They're not taking Exum #1 considering they could move down to #3 and do it.

I'd laugh my ass off if they took Exum at 1
