I think that guy said Embiid's physical was fine...then we saw what happened.

I feel like Parker is the "help us sooner" pick whereas Wiggins is the "better later on" pick. So I can see why they're torn on this.

Yea I think I'll listen to Chad Ford before the random guy that "uses league connections".

The whole Embiid-dropping concept, I believe, has to be originated from his own camp.

I know, it doesn't make sense for him to tank his own stock. But think of it like this:

The Cavs have always entertained the idea of drafting Wiggins or Jabari, even when Embiid was healthy/healthier. There was a good chance he could not go #1. If he didn't, he'd probably go #2 to Milwaukee, as he was mocked constantly pre-injury. He probably does not want to go to Milwaukee, like Exum, and probably Wiggins too. So Embiid, with this injury, knew that if he fell a bit, he would go to Boston or LA, and thats where he wants to play all along. Like, Orlando is fine, Philly and Utah are fine, but they aren't the two most historic franchises of the sport itself. So he and his camp play the injury off worse than it really is, knowing that at worst, he'll fall to #7 and the Lakers. He knows the Lakers will take him, no matter what basically.

TL;DR: He tanked his own stock to be a Celtic/Laker

he tanked his own stock by having the Cavs find a stress fracture in his foot that he immediately had surgery on after being told?

If the Cavs trade the #1 pick they have to have other large deals lined up, or they know something about LeBron that we don't. I just don't see any other reason to do it.

They would rather acquire a vet (or younger proven vet) than another 19-20 year old?

For what reason? To get the 6th seed? Give me the top prospect with star potential over Aaron Afflalo and a could guys you hope become starters

Quality over Quantity

That's the way you would go, sure. But there is a guy with an actual job and if he doesn't get that job done, then what?

Kyrie, Waiters, Bennett, Thompson, Zeller, Karasev...

Dellavedova, Felix, Hopson...

That's a lot of young guys that the coaching staff has to develop already. Griffin is probably very aware that he's on a clock just like every GM, and he knows that if he doesn't start showing the guys above him immediate improvement over the next two years and make something happen

That's a lot of young guys that the staff has to attempt to develop already, and it doesn't seem to be going all that well as is. I mean I'm not making this argument because this is what I believe, but Griffin is very aware that he's on a ticking clock just like every other GM in the league and so what if Andrew Wiggins becomes a great player in year 3 or 4 if he's not around to see it because the team didn't show enough improvement over two seasons?

I mean there are tons of example in professional sports in this. Just this past draft in the NFL Buffalo's GM traded a future first rounder to move up to draft Sammy Watkins because he's desperate and if fit doesn't work out then he doesn't care because he doesn't have a first round pick when he gets fired.

They're only leaking his medical records to certain teams.

Which is why you trade some of those young guys like Thompson for vets.

He's clearly the best prospect in the draft, and the Cavs have everything medically on him. If they pass on him, that should tell you what you need to know about his medicals.
