I actually have little hope for the Orioles this year. They've played better than I expected but I think they'll end up 3rd or 4th. Might be good enough for a WC spot but who knows. The injuries to the Rays will help.

The Jays offense isn't bad but calling it great is a huge stretch. Even Bautista is probably due for a regression and he's one of my favorite players in the league. But still, you're talking about over half their lineup regressing to their norm and that can't be a good thing.
you may be disregarding the fact that e5, reyes and colby arent even hitting that well yet. they will regress but in a good way. do i expect melky and bau to regress? hell yeah but not badly enough to hurt the lineup. theyre both very good hitters. at this point, imo 2b is the only blackhole in the lineup. again sp is the main concern of this team but even if the jays are a 5th place team like you think they are, they will most likely finish the season with a .500 record (or slightly above) barring any injuries.

Did I ever say the Orioles were that great? I can't remember. I hope I didn't. I want to believe in the team but they'll probably end up letting me down like last year.

Ubaldo had another good start tonight though.

AL East is just so wide open it's crazy. Four teams all with legit chances of winning.
5*

best run diffirential in the al east.

There went our win streak but I guess they'll just have to start another now. Kinda hard to sweep a 4 game series, even if it is the Astros.

The Blow Jays have a zero percent chance of winning the division and if you think otherwise you're delusional. Colby Rasmus is not going to regress in a good way (progress?). He's not that great of a hitter (career .250 average I think?).

I'm not really sure why run differential should matter at any point, but especially this early in the season. The Blow Jays have played the fourth easiest schedule in baseball.

Your argument isn't strong if you're using a dumb nickname to get your point across. They might not win the division, as it's a tough decision, but they have a decent/good ball club, who will eventually fizzle because of starting pitching. This would be a really promising team if they never made that Dickey trade.

Encarnacion has turned it around, if anything Rasmus' homers will fall off but everything else will rise, Adam Lind is definitely overachieving, but his fall off shouldn't be too dramatic, and Juan Francisco will eventually die.

Bautista is Bautista, one of the 5 best hitters in the league. Nothing he would do would surprise me.

I'm not really using the nickname to get my point across, that's just what I usually refer to them as. I'm not saying they suck but they don't have a chance of winning the division. Not even 0.1%.

You really think Bats is a top 5 hitter? I love the guy but I'm not sure I'd go that far.

By that logic Barry Bonds is still a top 5 hitter in baseball too

There's no such thing as progression to the mean you either regress to the mean in a good way or bad. The al east is wide open this year. And I never said Colby is a great hitter. If anything he shows flashes of greatness for a spanish of two weeks then look bad the next. He's an above average center fielder and he showed that last year. If you actually read my posts, I'm the least optimistic blue jays fan ever but al east has looked pretty bad thus far.

Really can't count anyone out in the east. If dickey can put it together, they can at least have a passable top 3 rotation and I've aleady stated my opinion about their offense. Obviously the rotation is still a big question mark.

And this year he's looked great. Pitchers have not been giving him good pitches to hit. Now that ee has finally caught up, maybe he'll finally see some good pitches to hit.

Also Barry bonds is the goat. End of story

Well to say that you can regress in a good way is an oxymoron in itself given the negative connotation of the word regress. I put the progress in parentheses with a question mark because I didn't think that sounded right either. But who knows.

And maybe the Blow Jays will prove me wrong, but I just don't see it.

I don't have high hopes either trust me, but the al east has not been very good. I thought the rays would actually run away with it early in the season, but injuries have destroyed the shit outta them.
