Yeah, they could have made it much easier on themselves but they are still in control as long as they take care of the next three games. If they do that, it won't matter what the Packers and Bears do. At least it's still in their control, where they aren't having to count on other teams, that's the main thing.

Monte Kiffin needs to come to terms with the fact that his defensive schematics have been studied, schemed against, and continually eviscerated for the past six of seven years. Only Chicago has been able to run it at all, and that's because they have great corners. Aside from that, look what happens when one of those corners ends up on IR.
