I didn't, no, but Kyle definitely deserves an All-Star bid over Kyrie, this year.

What Kyrie can do scoring the ball shouldn't overshadow everything, though. I think they're closer than people are acting like.

One major difference between me and a lot of the basketball posters at this site is you guys value PPG and scoring ability so much more than anything else. I find Kyrie to be a volume scorer at most. Good player? Sure, but give me the complete player who still scores 15+ and is better with rebounds, assists, and defense.

I guess we should make you the director of USA Basketball then because apparently they'd rather take Kyrie.

And if I wanted to build a win now team that actually played defense, I'd take Kyle. I'm a Houston fan--I see first hand what bad perimeter defense (in other words, any time that Beverly isn't on the court) is capable of. Kyrie is not a player who's conducive to winning anything, right now. He's got to become more than a scorer with a crazy handle.

You should have a sit down talk with Mike Krzyzewski and Jerry Colangelo, apparently they don't know what they're doing.

You're acting like you expected them to even consider more obscure players. Their decisions have been made for a long, long time. And as others have said, Kyle didn't come on until after the Rudy trade, which allowed the Raptors to actually meet their potential. Kyle's a good player, but he shrinks if the rest of the team sucks. Kyle's game depends on his tenacity, but how do you continue to play hard as hell when the team is horrible. Kyrie wakes up every day as a volume scorer who's capable of so much more but seems too selfish to even try to improve, but because of his scoring, people just assume he's a better overall player.

When you take everything into consideration, why does PPG matter so much more than any other stat? It's stupid. Yes, you need to outscore the other team, but doing things like playing defense and rebounding the ball help keep that other team from scoring more points.

If you're going to ask me to make a decision about winning right now between Kyle on a winning team and Kyrie as an underdeveloped, lazy volume scorer who makes Melo's defense look good, and doesn't even come close to elevating those around him, it's going to be a much tougher choice that you would expect.

Sit down and think about it. Ditch the Duke fandom for a minute. Consider everything.

Understand that I'm not saying I'd pick Kyle. I don't know who I'd pick. I'm simply saying that it's not an easy decision. There are a lot of more well rounded PGs who score a little less who I would at least consider over Irving. Kyle's just one of them. Others off the top of my head would be guys like Conley and Dragic.

Their assist percentages are about the same despite the fact that Kyrie plays with literally no weapons (at least until Deng came two weeks ago).

Like cheato said, it's not like Lowry is some all-world defender. He's decent, but nothing special.

How on earth is Kyrie Irving underdeveloped? He's a top 10-15 player in the league at age 21! Averaging 22 and 6 in what's been a pretty down year for him.

And for what it's worth, I think that Team USA considers just about everybody considering Kyle Korver got an invite.

Kyrie is overhyped as fuck, but I gotta go with Luke on this one, I would take him over Kyle Lowry, however Lowry is underrated, I just feel like Kyrie brings more to the table ya know

He has no weapons around him and the Cavs don't necessarily push the tempo. He's not an elite passer but I think in a better situation he'd average 7-8 APG

Waiters, Miles, Jack, Thompson, Varejoa. you're acting like their roster is complete dogshit. They've got some players, and should be considerably better than they are.

hes not showing the vision. if hes to ever turn into a 7-10apg guy he needs to show it more, which he doesnt.

not like 21/6 is bad, but still. those arent the makings of a championship point guard.

Are Mo Williams and Jeremy Lin still better? *evil smile*

Their roster is trash. Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving don't mesh together at all. Miles has been solid this year. I can't even speak to how much Jack and Irving play together since they're both PG's. Tristan Thompson is improved but he leaves a lot to be desired offensively still. Varejao is the definition of a garbage bucket getter. Like I said they have Luol now and once he meshes with the team that might help them out. But their roster is garbage and Kyrie wants out.

Sorry for bashing your team cheato.
