I think he can make it considering he's a solid shooter at 6'11" and a decent defender.  Don't think he'll ever be anything more than a role player though.

srsly?

Amd for a shooter, he sire does miss a lot

Hibbert has verticality on his side. Your points are invalid.

That's the crazy thing is he hasn't even shot that well. Coming into the year I thought the NBA three was outside of his range and I've kinda been right but he can work on it.

So you don't think it should matter that Hibbert is playing on the best team in the league and anchoring the #1 defense?

Team success should have little to do with all-star selections. The notion that certain teams deserve so and so amount of all-stars is bogus

Why? Arron Afflalo and Demar Derozan are having pretty identical seasons statistically, but Derozan is doing it on a winning team, and if I had to decide between the two for the all-star game I'd take Derozan.

Just an example.

I think Hibbert's better than Noah, especially with the way he rises in the playoffs. Should that matter? I think so.

Lowry's a complete point guard. Kyrie is a scorer masquerading as a point guard. Wall's better than Kyrie, too.

That's why I said little to do with. The only thing it should be used as is a tie breaker. It shouldn't be a significant weighing point as much as pure statistics.

If you're trying to insinuate that Kyle Lowrly is better than Kyrie, this doesn't even deserve a response.

Unless Kyrie decides to start playing defense and become a complete player, he's wasting his talent.

Kyle does everything. Kyrie might drop 30 on any given night, but that one little advantage doesn't make up for everything he doesn't do.

While I disagree, I'm not trying to argue who is the better player.  Just who deserves an all star spot this season.  Noah is having a better year than Hibbert this year, IMO.

Kyrie isn't good defensively, but you do realize Lowry is just an average defender, right?

Not to mention Lowry is having a career year offensively, which is 43% from the field for him. Kyrie, who has not been himself this year, is shooting a career low 43%.

Kyrie is an all-world talent, Lowry is an above average player who has been playing above his head for half a season.

An average defender based on what? Stats? The eye test says otherwise.

I don't care about the shooting percentages. I care about the player who's making his teammates better. Cleveland SHOULD be a decent team in this Eastern Conference, but they're shit.

Kyle rises when he's got something to play for. He has since his days at Villanova. Now that he's actually on a good team, I think he'll continue to play pretty well.

I didn't, no, but Kyle definitely deserves an All-Star bid over Kyrie, this year.

What Kyrie can do scoring the ball shouldn't overshadow everything, though. I think they're closer than people are acting like.

One major difference between me and a lot of the basketball posters at this site is you guys value PPG and scoring ability so much more than anything else. I find Kyrie to be a volume scorer at most. Good player? Sure, but give me the complete player who still scores 15+ and is better with rebounds, assists, and defense.
