Tanking is a term used by fans to create the illusion that their favorite team isn't actually as bad as it is, to help cope with the losses. It's not as if either the Lakers or Celtics are losing with a bunch of valuable young assets, either.

They arent tanking like losing on purpose

But they are also not trying to improve. Look at the offseason. Wes johnson and xavier henry and nick young all sucked last year

They are also even luckier that their whole team is injured

Although, idk why mda starts sacre over hill. That looks "tanky" lol

Lakers are tanking. Even with healthy kobe and nash the playoffs werent a sure thing and they were looking at 8th seed at best

Not adding veterans who aren't a long term solution to a rebuilding team does not = tanking. It's called rebuilding

The Lakers roster in general is just really weird this year. It's mainly due to a lack of flexibility with the cap and depreciating assets that can't get much in the trade market. They'll make their splash when they regain cap flexibility. But they definitely aren't tanking.

Why would they go out and sign impact full veterans who would just make the team marginally better? The Lakers started a rebuild when Dwight left. This is far from tanking.

Big Baby just hit a game-tying three in Double OT and spit everywhere.

Fast break? 7 seconds left? Down 1?

Perfect time for Glen Davis to take a 3pt attempt (air balled)
