8 games ago, Cheeks and Smith decided that they were going to try to get Smith more looks in the post, and to have him be more aggressive down there. Since then he has averaged 21 a game.
The League needs to rethink their approach at technical fouls. It's getting laughable.
In most cases you're giving the instigator the advantage because both players are getting punished, even if the other guy did absolutely nothing. You could almost start sending players out there to fight their star player because you know he'll get two techs in no time.
Blake got ejected from the game for this shit:

Either cut down on the techs, or start differentiating between normal techs and ones that are worthy of ejections.
Bogut's a badass, though. This is how you get in Blake's head. He shrinks, practically disappears, if someone is willing to be really physical with him. Other players always take it to far (i.e., ZBo), but it is what it is. Bogut should have been ejected, too, if either was going to be, but they fucked it up like they always do with techs, these days. its' annoying.
Why was I not surprised to see Joey Crawford in that replay?
No. Getting two techs is unacceptable behavior. They need to reel in how easily certain officials call Ts. It's that simple. Shrink the grey shirt egos and this problem will go away.
I think Stern cracked down too hard after piss fest at the Palace, and this is the result.
True, but we've been asking for moderation on these techs for a while now and if three grown men can't decide what warrants a tech, after watching multiple replays, I don't know what will.
Maybe a second choice with less impactful consequences helps them. But yeah, it's obviously not ideal.
I love the Grizzlies, but they're allowed to do so much pushing under the basket. I don't understand the double standard. There's no reason Dwight should have 5 fouls and Zack and Kosta aren't even sniffing foul trouble. Ridiculous.
