[background=rgb(217, 217, 221)]When Roger Goodell appointed Paul Tagliabue to hear the Saints' bounty appeal, the players [/background]fought to get the ex-NFL commissioner to recuse himself[background=rgb(217, 217, 221)]. There was no way, they thought, that Tagliabue would kneecap his successor, invalidating the suspensions that Goodell had pronounced from his unassailable lair atop Commissioner Mountain. But on Tuesday, Tagliabue sided, amazingly, against the man sitting behind his old desk, [/background]vacating the suspensions of four current and former Saints[background=rgb(217, 217, 221)]. Though he affirmed many of Goodell's original findings of player misconduct, this is the equivalent of a teacher writing "nice job" in the margin of a D paper. Goodell got it wrong in every way that matters. He conducted an unfair investigation that reached bad conclusions based on faulty evidence, then crowed sanctimoniously about his findings. Now, at last, this story has the ending it deserves, with the power-hungry commissioner undone by his quest to demonstrate just how powerful he can be.[/background]

I don't think there is a single person on this forum aside for you that actually cares about this bountygate shit.

Stop posting about it, nobody cares anymore.

Those graphs seem to indicate that the Patriots are choke artists lol.

What it's supposed to say is that in both of those games, we had over an 85% chance of winning with under 2:30 to go, so that we should have won those games.

Yes, we choked (BAL due to poor officiation calls, SEA due to a terrible, lazy secondary), but like I have said before, this offense is one of the greatest.

I care, that's good enough for me...

But seriously, even if yall don't care, it's still nice to kind of gently say "I told you so." Interestingly enough, Tags actually said in his report thing that the Patriots and Packers were found to have a similar system as the Saints, I wonder if the NFL only handing down fines to them had anything to do with the Saints being vacated?

EDIT: Oh and actually, I know for a fact that Matt cares as well...

There was a bounty in place, the players knew about it, and money was exchanged.

That's all that matters.

get over this shit. move on.
It's far from over, players may be free but their names haven't been cleared. Vilma still has his defamation suit against Goodell that is very much alive. Plus we still have the matter of our coach and draft picks.

On another note, did anyone hear anything about the playoffs being expanded?

Huge game tonight for the Bengals, gotta win. Hopefully they aren't overlooking this Eagles team because they do have some talent, but you know that Pittsburgh game next week has to be in the back of their mind, won't matter if they don't win tonight.

My cocky Chargers friend keeps on going around saying that they aren't out yet, and it's really annoying.

Good thing that a win tonight for Cincinnati kicks them out of the playoffs (CIN would have tiebreaker)
