Apparently the Browns are close to signing Hillis to a 3 year incentive laden deal. Would not expect the Browns to consider Trent if this happens. We might look in the 2nd and 3rd round for a back tho.

NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora predicted on Thursday's Total Access that the Saints will lose free agent Marques Colston if he makes it to the open market.
"There will likely be more money for him elsewhere," LaCanfora explained. Colston may be comfortable with coach Sean Payton and QB Drew Brees in New Orleans, but this is his one shot at a mega contract to set himself up for life. The Redskins, Vikings, Bears, and Jaguars could be among Colston's most fervent suitors.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez is learning the New York Jets' new offense from one of the Jets' old quarterbacks -- Chad Pennington.

Sanchez met Pennington in South Florida recently for a crash course in Tony Sparano's offense, ESPNNewYork.com confirmed. Pennington brought an old Miami Dolphins playbook and began teaching the system and terminology to Sanchez. The two quarterbacks met more than once for classroom-type sessions.

Sanchez reached out to Pennington because, under the new collective bargaining agreement, players aren't allowed to meet with their coaches and discuss football until April 16 -- the start of the offseason program.

Sparano was hired Jan. 11 to replace offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Instead of waiting around for three months, Sanchez took the initiative.

Pennington, unceremoniously released by the Jets before the 2008 season, signed immediately with the Dolphins and directed Sparano's offense in 2008 and 2009. Pennington played brilliantly in 2008, leading Miami to the AFC East title.

Pennington, 35, who worked last season as an NFL game analyst for FOX Sports, has a home in South Florida. He missed last season because of major knee surgery and is considering retirement after a career filled with several shoulder injuries.

Interestingly, Pennington's former backup in Miami -- Chad Henne -- is on the Jets' free-agent radar, according to sources. The Jets are looking for a veteran to back up Sanchez. Obviously, Henne would be a fit because of familiarity with Sparano's system.

Pennington finally making himself useful to the Jets organization.

Supposedly they worked him out last year but the Saints said people mistook Montez Billings for Randy Moss.

Randy Moss may have to get accustomed to wearing black and gold very soon.

League sources tell sportsNOLA.com that Moss had an off-the-charts workout at the Saints facility this morning.

The 35-year old Moss reportedly perfomed the 40-yard dash in the 4.39 to 4.4 range and ran routes while hauling in nearly 50 passes. One source described Moss as being more impressive than anticipated, saying that he is in great shape.

Moss spoke with Saints officials, including Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton, after the workout and both sides were encouraging to one another. The sources confirm that there is a strong chance of the two sides coming together on a deal that would make Moss a Saint in 2012.

Not sure what I think of adding Moss, if we do.
