Vontaze is a idiot...Goodness
Because I'm going to believe some unnamed source over the Jets who called Richardson letting him know of their interest, and teams usually only call prospects who actually have a possibility to be available at their pick. Everybody and my mother knows Trent isn't gonna be available at 16.The Jets aren't expected to make a play for Alabama RB Trent Richardson unless he "unexpectedly starts to slide."
"It's ridiculous," one team official said of the current price to move up into the top four. With Richardson not expected to slide any further than No. 6 to the Rams, the Jets won't get the opportunity to make a move for the draft's top back.
Sorry BC, go ahead and hang your head and cry.
SMH.Because I'm going to believe some unnamed source over the Jets who called Richardson letting him know of their interest, and teams usually only call prospects who actually have a possibility to be available at their pick. Everybody and my mother knows Trent isn't gonna be available at 16.
Everything that I've read says that teams only call players that they actually have interest in drafting to verify their contact info (which is what I already said)SMH.
No, Teams call every player to make sure their contact information is correct. NY Media is reading too much into shit. They aren't getting Richardson and won't come close to getting him.
No, its obvious Jets like Richardson.. But they got his contact information incase they trade up.. if he slips, but he wont.. But teams call every player and ask for their up to date contact information. Not just players they like, cause obviously it would tip their hand at what they wanna do.Everything that I've read says that teams only call players that they actually have interest in drafting to verify their contact info (which is what I already said)
If the Jets weren't serious about trading up to get Trent, they wouldn't have called
Are the Jets planning on trading their entire draft this year and half of it next year?Everything that I've read says that teams only call players that they actually have interest in drafting to verify their contact info (which is what I already said)
If the Jets weren't serious about trading up to get Trent, they wouldn't have called
He has a point. Hard worker, great character, nice size. And Mayock said that Chandler Jones will be the best defensive player out of this draft in 5 years, he's officially an idiot.
"Sure, I mean I love Trent so much to where I feel like we should trade our whole draft for the next 5 years for him" - BC.Are the Jets planning on trading their entire draft this year and half of it next year?
Yeah, they got his contact information because they're serious about trading up, they're not going to waste their time. No, its obvious Jets like Richardson.. Do you even realize what it'd take to move up to #3 from 16?Yeah, they got his contact information because they're serious about trading up, they're not going to waste their time.
I'm not sitting here booking that we're going to trade up and get him, but you'd have to be stupid to completely dismiss it at this point.
Unless they are willing to part with a Mangold/Ferguson/RevisDo you even realize what it'd take to move up to #3 from 16?
Imagine multiple 1st round picks, 2nd round picks, etc. It'd make the trade from the Rams/Redskins look SILLY.
Wake up from your wet trent richardson dream. Be happy with whatever DLineman yall get.
Its not happening. Once again, they just wanted his contact information incase he does slip, because anything can happen.. and they could trade up to 8/9/10 and grab him. Hes not going to the Jets. The Jets generate NFL headlines better than most teams, so perhaps it should be no surprise that they have inserted themselves in the NFL draft conversation a day before the big show.
From ESPN: The Jets have contacted Trent Richardson, the No. 1 player on their board, to ask for his correct phone information in case they trade for him.
From what I understand, most NFL teams do such prep work as calling prospects ahead of time. They want to make sure that a player is ready for a phone call should they draft that player.
The Vikings are scouring the earth for all willing trade partners, but it seems highly unlikely the Jets can afford to move up 13 spots because of all they’d have to give up. The Jets have several positional needs, especially on defense. Trading away precious picks for Richardson would be shortsighted at best.
If the Vikings pull off a trade, their best bet might be to negotiate with teams a few spots behind them. No. 5 Tampa Bay and No. 6 St. Louis come to mind as teams willing to part with, say, a low-third-rounder and a late-round pick for the right to take Richardson. That way, the Vikings could still land one of their top three targets — Matt Kalil, Morris Claiborne, Justin Blackmon.
Honestly.Unless they are willing to part with a Mangold/Ferguson/Revis
Which would be retarted
I have no idea what they'll do, but Tannenbaum isn't afraid to trade up to get who he wants, regardless of cost. Are the Jets planning on trading their entire draft this year and half of it next year?
Everybody was saying that JPP had the potential to do what he's doing, the likelihood wasn't very high, but it was regarded as possible. He has a point. Hard worker, great character, nice size.
Every year he calls a prediction and somebody calls him a moron, and he pretty much always ends up correct.
I remember him saying JPP would be a beast and one of the best from the Class IIRC.
He also said Jay Cutler would be the better QB out of Young and Leinart. Which everybody said he was stupid then too.
No"Sure, I mean I love Trent so much to where I feel like we should trade our whole draft for the next 5 years for him" - BC.
Lets waste picks.. on a position that is clearly going down in value. You can find a good RB in the 2nd and later rounds.
All I hear is "Richardson is like AP" ... Um, I don't see the Vikings winning anything with AP, and its becoming a passing league. RBs expire at age 29/30 anyways.
No. JPP had a high bust rate. He flew up boards quickly and was viewed as a Workout Warrior.I have no idea what they'll do, but Tannenbaum isn't afraid to trade up to get who he wants, regardless of cost.

Not hard to figure out that VY wouldn't work in the NFL. And Matt Leinart has still never gotten a real shot at being a QB for a team. He's only thrown 600 passes in the NFL and hasn't been all that bad during his time.
No
Yeah, Shonn Greene is the RB that you're going to find in the 2nd and later rounds, we already have that guy and he sucks.
The Vikings aren't winning anything with AP because they've rarely ever had a good QB with him. The one year they got real production out of the QB position, they went to the NFC Championship. Brett Favre doesn't get them that far without AP.
Good thing you have TebowThe Vikings aren't winning anything with AP because they've rarely ever had a good QB with him. The one year they got real production out of the QB position, they went to the NFC Championship. Brett Favre doesn't get them that far without AP.
Vikings wanna move back to say 8 or 9 and still get "their guy" They don't wanna move back to 16 and have to pick from slim pickings. It's not going to take all that to move up to 3. Schefter just said on ESPN that the Vikings are delusional if they think that they're going to get anything close to what the Rams got for the 2nd pick and that if they're serious about trading they have to be realistic about the package they can get. If they're unwilling to move off their ridiculously high asking price, no team is going to trade with them.
