If you can review tipping the ball out of bounds you should be able to review laying the ball off the backboard. It's a pretty clear rule, block before it hits the backboard= block, block after the ball hits the backboard= goaltending.

I agree, dumb rule. Not sure how they decipher what is "judgement calls" and what isn't.

I think it's mainly because if there is a goaltend mid game, you wont review that. But if you can't figure out who's ball it is, they will. I guess just because it was the end of the game, makes no difference.
