Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal
Sources: #Marlins, #Orioles not in mix for Fielder. #Rangers out, per @BNightengale. Barring surprise, #Nationals appear favorite. #MLB

Tim Brown from Yahoo just said that the Tigers are nearing a 9-year deal with Fielder (DH??).

I'll believe it when I see it.

Source: Prince is very close to a nine-year contract with the Detroit Tigers, according to sources.

It makes too much sense for the Marlins to sign Fielder, don't understand why they're interested. If they sign him they can trade Gaby Sanchez for a quality starter and further improve their rotation. They need as many quality rotation arms as possible since Josh Johnson is made of glass.

I don't think it's true. That would mean that him or Miggy would be DHing full-time, which neither will want to do.

Would be a lethal 3-4 combo though.

He could never play 3rd, which is why he moved to begin with.

Never understand why fans insist on players moving back to positions that they used to play. They were moved for a reason, they were piss poor defenders.

The Tigers are "very close" to a nine-year deal with Prince Fielder, Yahoo's Tim Brown tweets. Fielder will join Miguel Cabrera in the middle of the Tigers' order to create more than enough offense to make up for the loss of Victor Martinez.
Well, I'm sure one would be fine with DHing full-time knowing they'd be batting back to back with eachother every game. Wow lol.

I don't understand why players don't want to play DH. It extends your career and you don't gotta do shit.
