Anyone notice that B®ad Penny and John Smoltz stunk up the Roidsux and are now looking like stars in the much weaker NL?

Tigers won 4-2, but not only that, White Sox beat the Twins 4-2 earlier that day, so we gained on the Twins. Now up 4.5. :D

I actually watched the 9th when the White Sox scored all those runs. I was saying "It`d be soo funny if the White Sox hit homers and tied it up" Which they did, at the time.

FIXED

Your league can have the All Star Game every year but I'll take the series that matters most anyday

Brad Penny had a good ass game I can't believe it

The World series doesn't show what League is better, it only shows which league had the best team the previous year. It's quite obvious the AL is better.

I knew you were gonna interject n00b

We've had that conversation before

I know the AL is better, just saying an NL team is the current champ

Only one team is the current champ, not the entire NL like you think.

Bargains in the bullpen
A look at some teams that haven't broken the bank in order to find effective closers.
Player Team SV ERA '09 Salary
David Aardsma SEA 33 2.19 $419K
Ryan Franklin STL 36 1.37 $2.5M
Frank Francisco TEX 22 3.32 $1.615M
Jonathan Broxton LAD 30 2.70 $1.825M
Heath Bell SD 33 2.14 $1.255M
Andrew Bailey OAK 21 1.88 $400K

Interesting to see some of the best closers in the league and how cheap they can be. You dont need an expensive closer as you can see.

Yes, but for now they are amazing bargains for what they produce.

Fernando Rodney <_<

55 K, 2-3, 31/32 Saves, 3.17 ERA, $2,700,000

Not too shabby considering no one expected him to do so good.

Rodney has the electric stuff, just not the correct mentality. He puts too many people on base for my liking. Its like every time he is on he has a man on 1st and 2nd.
