Ed Stefanski is continuing his search for a veteran to add to his young Sixers backcourt.

A source familiar with the situation confirmed some early contact concerning Atlanta Hawks unrestricted free agent Ronald "Flip" Murray, but said that Murray's agent is looking for more than a 1-year commitment.

Leon Powe is reportedly considering a contract offer from the Cavaliers.

He is believed to have had talks with the Mavericks as well, but their recent agreement with Drew Gooden likely means they'll end their pursuit of Powe.

Powe, who has yet to receive an offer to remain with the Celtics, isn't expected to come back until the end of the 2009-10 season as he recovers from a knee injury.

The Knicks were hoping to get Nate Robinson and David Lee signed at the same time and that is still a possibility if Lee is willing to agree to a one-year deal worth between $7 and $8 million.

If Lee isn't signed, the Knicks will try to work out and sign and trade. The Bulls have always been high on Lee and may try to work out a deal. The Knicks like Kirk Hinrich but Chicago would likely push Tyrus Thomas.

Well I think the Knicks should try their best to get Lee suited up for next season. A very underrated player

If they can get Kirk and Tyrus, the Knicks will be 5x better.

I would much rather Kirk AND Tyrus then Lee.

But its sounding like the Bulls arent looking to trade Lee for Kirk. And a Tyrus Thomas for Lee deal is a lopesided on our side, we should get more. Maybe add an expiring, and they add Hinrich?

With the free agent market drying up the consensus around the Knicks is that they may not lose restricted free agents David Lee and Nate Robinson as once expected - in fact, both players seem to be warming up to the idea of one-year deals with the Knicks and becoming unrestricted free agents next year. Reports from the region suggest that Robinson may have reached terms on a one-year, $5 million deal, while David Lee is rumored to have a $7.5 million offer on the table.

Lee's camp is still pushing for long-term security and with so many teams interested in a sign-and-trade deals Lee's camp is holding out that a bigger longer deal can be obtained.

At the end of the day it's looking more and more likely that both players take one-year offers and stay in New York than actually finding the deals they seek elsewhere, especially not as restricted free agents.
If Walsh is able to get Nate and DLee agree to one year deals, then I have to say he's one of the better minds in the GM game.

When the offseason started it looked like we would loose both, now its looking like we're gonna keep both at a very reasonable price.

And when we do sign a big name next year, then it will be more enticing for them to re-sign. We could also give them the numbers they truly want.

In the midst of all this, Alex from NES 24/7 called into the show for a 30-minute conversation on sign and trade rumors. For fans who dislike rumor talk, the middle of the show is not for you, but for the rest of us who enjoy speculation it was a hit. Alex confirmed that he had been hearing the same rumor as Justin from a different source; that Glen Davis is headed to New Jersey in a sign and trade. While Justin was reluctant to post any such rumor in print without specific details, Alex reported that Yi Jianlian was the target and it is likely that no further details have been sorted out yet.

All were in agreement that figuring out what city Glen Davis will call home for next season was holding up the works; the proverbial cork in a shaken champagne bottle. At the end of the week, Gabe Pruitt’s future with the team will be decided and while that is no cause for setting a sign and trade deadline, Kevin and Justin set one anyway. And not to mention the CelticsBlog.com report that Bruce Bowen to the Celtics is in the works! While this may be the longest write-up for a Sunday night show in quite some time, I can assure you that it is only scratching the surface of what proved to be a solid show.

Marcus Williams' agent, Calvin Andrews, confirmed to Pro Basketball News on Wednesday afternoon his client will sign with the Memphis Grizzlies within the next few days. The point guard will get a one-year deal for the NBA minimum of $855,189.

"They have a need for another point guard," Andrews said. "And, after playing with (the Grizzlies during the summer league in Las Vegas), he's very comfortable with them and the coaching staff."

hell of a trade.

GSW trades Marco Bellinelli to Toronto for Devean George.

Toronto replaces kapono, and GSW gets rid of a guard. DGeorge wont play.
more PT for Curry, Morrow, Buike, etc

According to a Twitter post by Gery Woelfel, who covers the Bucks for The Journal Times, John Hammond and Donnie Walsh spoke on Wednesday.

Woelfel believes that the subject of their conversation was the possibility of the two clubs completing a sign-and-trade deal.

The Knicks are known to have interest in Bucks' restricted free-agent Ramon Sessions. The Knicks have two of their own restricted free-agents, David Lee and Nate Robinson, who remain in limbo.

Sounds like a fair deal to me, and if there is going to be a S&T involving one of them, then it would likley be Nate since our asking price for DLee is so" high"

Derozan should start, and I don't see Marco as your third string SG/SF, he should get more PT then that.

i don't think derozan will start until around midway through the season. i guess you could take jack out of the shooting guard mix but he's a tough defender against bigger shooting guards. belinelli will probly get more PT but he's lost in the mix.

Frank Isola reports that "within one day or two," Donnie Walsh is expected to decide between making a contract offer to Jamaal Tinsley or Ramon Sessions.

Tinsley is an unrestricted free-agent who will command a smaller salary than the restricted free-agent Sessions. If the Knicks make an offer to Sessions, the Bucks would have seven days to match.

It was reported earlier on Thursday that Walsh and Bucks' GM John Hammond spoke on Wednesday to discuss a possible sign-and-trade.

Hm, Jamal who is older and hasn't played an NBA games in close to a tear maybe longer or a up and coming young player who has shown glimpses of what could be a great player.. I'd take Ramon and I'd be trying hard to get him.

Word is Hakim Warrick, transformed from a restricted free agent to an unrestricted free agent last week when the Grizzlies withdrew their qualifying offer, is deciding between Cleveland, Philadelphia and Milwaukee and could choose his new team as early as Friday.

The athletic power forward averaged 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds last season for the Grizz. If the Cavs -- who still have their $1.9 million bi-annual exception to offer, as Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reminds -- could add Warrick to Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon, that would be three interesting bargains to supplement their trade for Shaquille O'Neal and the pricey re-signing of Anderson Varejao.
