it's funny because it's not like Oden was never hurt until he got drafted.
he's always been injury prone

he's healthy now though.
dont give up on him yet.
he's an excellent rebounder. i dont see why he cant be like a bigger better Big Ben

Okay say he does turn out to be like Ben wallace and KD turns to be a top 3 player in his prime. Would oden be considered a bust.

i dont think so.

hakeem was no slouch, but MJ was obviously the no. 1 choice. that year

but hakeen did bring Houston some titles.

i think this could end up being the same scenario.
(not comparing Oden to Hakeem though. no way)

like what if Oden becomes a really above average center like Alonzo or something and eventually gets a title

Bulls are about to turn into some hot wings and get eaten alive tonight. Sheed and KG are around, while Ben Gordon isn't.

Would hakeem have won those titles if mj stayed around?

All I care is that D-rose goes off on rondo tonight.

Im saying if MJ stayed around and hakeem didnt win any rings would his legacy be tarnished a bit?

Who knows? Olajuwon's Rockets, and MJs Bulls never met in the finals.

Actually what I mean is; MJ's Bulls stopped guys like Barkley, Malone, Ewing, Stockton, and Kemp's attempts at getting a championship, and their legacies as some of the greatest players at their position are hardly being challenged despite not winning a championship. Olajuwon was just one of a kind, rings or not, he would still be a top 5/10 center regardless.

I was trying to word it wrong. I meant if olajuwon never won a ring..would people still say he was a good pick over jordan?

If Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh never win a championship would they be questioned for being picked ahead of D-Wade? I don't get why The Dream would ever not be a good pick, I'm sure that if the draft was done over and MJ was still available they'd still consider taking Olajuwon over him.

Yeah but just like any other championship team, Jordan never won anything by himself. That's what this conversation is sounding like, as if these guys won championships on their own. If MJ was given Drexler, Cassell, and Horry instead would he have won? Give Olajuwon a team of Rodman, Pippen, Kerr, and be coached by Phil Jackson, would he have won with them?

Olajuwon didn't do it without help, and MJ didn't do it without help. Just like how people questioned D-Wade and Kobe for having Shaq etc. What would Jordan have done without Pippen, Rodman, Kerr? etc. etc

Don't worry about these guys and their legacies as players. They were great, and that's that. Some guys are just fortunate enough to have better teams/coaches around them. Like I said earlier championship or not regardless of where they were picked. They are undoubtedly two of the best of all time. The Dream went first, MJ went third. That's just the way that it goes.

Lol we turned a convo about greg potentially being a bust into a conversation about mj and hakeem. Conversations with mexi and whisper are always entertaining.

Dwight with a double-double in the first quarter... 12 & 11. He was 2-of-9 from the FT line, but he's never been a good FT shooter.

VC came out ready to go against his former team. As soon as the ball was passed to him after the tip-off he went right by Lee and Lopez for a dunk... He's got 13pts.

Lee's looking decent with 8pts... Lopez has two fouls already.

I wanna see Minny go off real soon

Also, I read something about the Cavs needing Delonte more than they think...IDK what to think about it. I mean, Delonte behind Mo sounds ALOT better than Gibson...
