Nobody deserves talent...they should all go to the Yankees
Yea you are completely right Baggs. They should always win everything and overpay everyone.

Actually Jason Bay wasnt overpaid. He wanted 5 years and around 80 mil. We said 4 around 66 mill and got it done. Now if you want to talk Oliver Perez 2 years 24 mil, then I will agree with you, lol.

Jason Bay is overpaid. He doesn't deserve the money he is getting. He can't play defense and won't hit more than 30 HRs, if you can justify signing him to that kind of money, I can probably justify signing AJ Burnett for the money he got.

As long as he hits 30+HR and drives in 100, I really dont care.

You should change your sig to a new player, some people may confuse Halladay still being on the Blue Jays, lol.

He's a Blue Jay forever lol.

I wonder if losing 40 pounds for Geovany Soto is gonna work. It's crazy how he lost that much weight during a short period of time.

MLB.com - Giants pitcher Barry Zito isn't content being the team's third starter heading into the 2010 season.

He has four years remaining on his seven-year, $126 million contract.

"I wouldn't say I'm fine with it, I'm not," Zito told MLB.com.

"I'm competitive by nature, and of course, I want to be the guy. It's important. But the way I pitched in 2008, it didn't deem me worthy of being the No. 1 starter going into last season. But no, I'm not happy being a No. 3 starter."

San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said on Sunday that Zito probably will be slotted in the second game when Spring Training begins for the Giants on Wednesday.

"I want to earn my stature back. I don't expect anybody to give it to me," Zito said. "I want to be a top-of-the-rotation guy again. I want to be out there on Opening Day, getting the win. It's important to me."

Zito isn't even all that good. He did good in a pitcher's park, he's just average outside of one.

I sure hope so. If Soto can rebound, if Soriano can rebound and stay healthy, if a platoon of Mike Fontenot and Jeff Baker works, if Aramis stays healthy, if somebody steps up in the rotation and if the bullpen does its job, then the Cubs will be good. Yeah...that's a lot of if's.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are close to an agreement with right fielder Justin Upton on a six-year contract worth about $50 million, sources tell ESPN's Pedro Gomez.

FoxSports.com first reported that Upton and the Diamondbacks were closing in on a deal, expected to be announced Wednesday.

If the two sides reach agreement, the contract would cover all three years in which Upton, 22, would be eligible for salary arbitration, as well as his first two years of eligibility for free agency. Without a new deal, Upton would be eligible for arbitration after this season.

In 2009, Upton hit .300 with 26 home runs and 86 RBIs -- all improvements over his 2008 production.
