Yea, he'd be a good pick. Even though they seem to have alot of bigs on that team. Most aren't that good though. Like Shareef, L. Wright, Taylor...etc.

Shareefs good. Hed start if he was healthy. But Thomas blows and Wright expired so he prolly wont come back. Idk what Taylor your talkin bout though. lol. Pretty much at the PF its just Shareef and Sheldon, both mediocre so he could see nice minutes right away. Ive heard comparisons to Jamison, which I see alot of in him which is a really good sign.

lol whoops I meant Thomas. My bad. They need to get rid of Johnson to. He's old...and a bum. Hopefully Shareef will get healthy or get traded.

Nope, no cap. Unless Artest leaves we might have a tiny bit. K9 gets like 7M to ride the pine, same with SAR. Miller gets like 10M I think...And KMarts extension kicks in.

Wow I don't think I remember a trade where one team got JUST Cash, The Hornets must have a free agent in mind giving up that 27th pick for cash to the blazers, but I love the direction the blazers are going.

Looming NBA draft fueling trade talk for Knicks

GREENBURGH N.Y. - Donnie Walsh's eyes widened when talk of Thursday's NBA draft moved to talk of some of the surprising veteran names that have been mentioned in trade conversations.

"I'm not going to say who it is, but I heard it today, I was like, 'No, there's no way,'" Walsh said. When his scouts confirmed the star player in mention was being offered around, Walsh replied, "You're kidding me."

Walsh said he hadn't made any calls on it as of yet, but added, "When I leave here, I will check it out."

Many top names have been whispered recently, from Carmelo Anthony, Lamar Odom and Michael Redd to Baron Davis and T.J. Ford. The biggest name surfacing in trade scenarios is Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, but another available Heat player could be forward Shawn Marion, who just picked up his $17.8-million option for next season.

And with the Bulls expected to take Derrick Rose first overall, there is talk that the Heat may draft Kansas State forward Michael Beasley with the intention of packaging him in a trade and eventually winding up with USC guard O.J. Mayo.

The Knicks, who own the No. 6 pick, have an eye on Mayo and, depending on how the draft shakes out, could wind up in place to grab him.

What they do with him from there is uncertain, especially if Walsh could somehow parlay it into reuniting Marion, a former Phoenix Suns all-star, with Mike D'Antoni.

"Donnie doesn't have just one plan," said a person with knowledge of the situation. "He has a Plan A, B, C and D."

Even Walsh has admitted "some of it is gamesmanship," but as he said Tuesday during his media address at the MSG Training Center, the result of this year's draft for the Knicks depends largely on what the five teams ahead of them do. The Knicks likely will choose from players such as Mayo, UCLA's Russell Westbrook and Italian swingman Danilo Gallinari. But Walsh has no idea what will be available to him until the draft actually takes place.

"I can sit here and tell you what I want all I want," Walsh said. "But the people who are in front of us are going to have some control over that."

With that in mind, Walsh has involved himself in talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves (third overall) and Memphis Grizzlies (fifth) that involve the Knicks moving up in the draft, which would ensure the opportunity to land Mayo. Minnesota is believed to also have an interest in Mayo, but Timberwolves GM Kevin McHale is believed to be more interested in landing a big man -- Stanford's Brook Lopez, for instance -- to play alongside forward Al Jefferson, who was the centerpiece of the Kevin Garnett trade with Boston.

The Grizzlies are believed to be locked into getting UCLA forward Kevin Love or landing a veteran power forward to play with newly signed center Marc Gasol. So if Love isn't available at No. 5, a person with knowledge of the situation said they would then trade the pick to the Knicks in a package that includes David Lee going to Memphis.

Walsh acknowledged that he's been in on a lot of conversations, but nothing that was imminent. The Knicks haven't hid their intention to find a point guard to replace Stephon Marbury, but have not been involved in talks with Toronto regarding Ford. But trade talk will only heat up after the draft in July.

Im glad to hear this, we need to make big moves this off-season. I really wanna keep Marbury around to see what type of player he comes back as, but Randolph has to go. I wouldnt mind seeing Curry shipped either, but I think we're set on keeping him.

If we're ab;e to grab Mayo i'd be estatic, same with Bayless. But even if their gone Westbrook and Augustin are very good players too and I still would mind having either of em....

Looks like we're serious about making moves, and I wonder who the player Walsh is talking about when he said "You're kdding me".... must be someone pretty good lol

What do you mean what kind of player Marbury will come back as??? He's only really been 1 type of player for his whole career....I say get rid of him and either Randolph or Curry, maybe both.

Yea I want to know what player they were talking about to.

Nuggets trade the #20 pick to the Bobcats. In exchange for a future 1st round pick.

Really?

The Bobcats are 1 good big man away from a GREAT team. Makes sense they are trying to get another pick..
Who did they trade/what did they trade?

I believe Starbury will revive his career this season. he wont be the 20 and 8 guy he used to be but he will be solid.

I don't really get why the Nuggets traded their pick away though. Could of had some really solid players at that pick.

Eh...pretty much everyone is saying that outside of Rose, Beasley, and Mayo, everyone is just a gamble, sure they could be good, but they also could take years. I personally think most will be good or decent though.

That is true, but still the Nuggets needed that pic, JR might leave(the Spurs want him bad). Then they will have even less depth... Oh well I'm glad the 'Cats got another pick.
