Here's my problem... Within 15 seconds of Yuli's gesturing, the internet was a blaze. MLB writers from Keith Law to local bloggers were already putting up rants and blogging about this racist act without even really being sure WTF he did and why. When you read Coach's second post above, I really...
Not the right scoial climate to pull hat stunt in the dugout but I really don’t think it’s a big deal. Baseball writers didn’t make it any better, all over social media, talking more about that incident than the game itself. Pretty sad sports has crossed so much into this hypersensitive...
I don’t think the Red Sox have the pieces... unless the Marlins just want to dump the contract and are willing to take an average package of prospects in return.
Stanton to Boston gets a lot of talk but I can’t see it happening. The Marlins don’t need OF, nor does Boston need another massive contract. Not a popular opinion but I believe the Sale Trade was a big error. The White Sox won in the long run and it’s not like Sale was good down the stretch.
Terrible year coaching bases this season but he’s considered one of the best infield instructors in all of baseball. Players respect the hell out of him. I know a lot of Sox fans would rather he have stuck around, not to imply Cora would want him either way.
Red Sox biggest issue was Slugging...
Theo allowed Joe Maddon the freedom to make changes to his coaching staff. Maddon nearly cleared out his MLB bench and is bringing in Chili Davis as new hitting coach, Brian Butterfield as 3rd Base Coach, and Jim Hickey as new pitching coach.
Chili Davis and Butterfield were given permission...
I'm thinking Kevin Long, Al Pedrique, or Bobby Mitchell. Long has experience in the Bronx while Pedrique and Mitchell have successfully managed much of the Yankees' young core in the minors.
I honestly don't care who it is, as long as they don't manage the young talent backwards. John Farrell...
Girardi seems like the best candidate given where the roster it at, but now I'm not sure. Nats may be looking to get younger as well. Two younger, analytics-driven managers in the World Series...while many old school guys getting shit-canned.
Makes a ton of sense given the direction of the team. Cashman wants a younger, more player-friendly manager that is big on analytics. Yanks have built a fairly large analytics dept and while Joe didn't necessarily ignore it, he certainly isn't embracing it like the AJ Hinch's and Dave Roberts's...
Teams that haven't won a WS in the modern era of baseball should cash in the Farm for a guy like Miller. You cannot expect to win the trophy without a lock down closer.
Valid but I do think Jay Bruce doesn't cost too much and does a lot to solidify the club come Fall. Brantley doesn't have to be rushed back for one and second, Bruce creates more lineup options and allows Napoli, Santana, and Uribe more rest time. Bruce does carry a 2017 team option.
Lucroy and Will Harris seem destined for Texas. If Cashman convinces Hal & Hank to sell, we can count on Chapman going to Washington and I'll Jay Bruce to Cleveland and believe it or not, I like Todd Frazier and Melky Cabrera to be dealt to Toronto. Eduardo Nunez, Ervin Santana, and Fernando...
