Bad news for the Cardinals.  He'll be out at least 12 months, likely longer.   While the Cardinals can handle his replacement internally, they will certainly miss his electric stuff.

What would a team give for a 2B that can hit 35+ homers and score 100+ runs a year, along with giving plus defense?  The Twins have asked teams with interest in making this deal to give them their best offers this week to keep the situation from dragging out.

Well, he did it.  3000 hits in the majors.  He did it with a triple. Congratulations to one of the finest hitters I've ever seen.

Mark Teixeira has announced that this will be his final season.  He has openly admitted that he has been overpaid for the past few seasons, but has had a great career.  He was at one time one of the most feared hitters in baseball along with being a gold glover at 1B.  Not sure if his peak years...

The Twins relieved Terry Ryan of his duties as their GM today.  Some will be surprised by this move, others say it came too late. Rob Antony will assume the helm.
