There's a Cubs documentary I watched that highlighted that season. Amazing. I had no problem with Stanton, and I liked Votto as a possibility as well. Anthony Rendon surprisingly hasn't been brought up yet, and he was a big reason the Nats did as well as they did this year (With Harper's...
Did Westbrook get his triple-double though? That's all that matters to him.
Even if he does, it's alright. As long as it isn't second to Westbrook. At least Kyrie actually tries to help his team win. Westbrook was always about himself. You can see it now with OKC's 9 losses. He cant...
A quick trip to the BBWAA website would show that there is no set definition of what constitutes the MVP. The definition is left up to those who vote. So for you to declare me wrong and you right is a waste of time. The truth lies somewhere in between the two arguments. It changes from one...
Not to mention someone already up and ready. If the Giants leak was legit (a weak offer anyways), they are gonna want a Panik-type player back as well. Maybe a Jackie Bradley Jr + 2-3 top-top prospects. Then they are going to be hesitant to cover much salary.
I still think it is worth it...
Taking Bellinger over Votto is ridiculous. Look at the statline for each and Votto is head and shoulders above Bellinger. Each had similar value to their team in terms of impact on the overall line-up. The Reds would have no offense without Votto, and the Dodgers couldnt win a post-season series...
Rockets looking good. Tucker and MaM have been great low key adds to this team. Provide solid minutes and good defense.

So here's how the timeout huddle should go according to you:
MDA (to team): We are up by 30! We must stop executing our offense as to not offend the other team.
MDA: We must not shoot threes! Only contested 2 pointers from here on out guys!
MDA (to Harden): And Harden - you cant...
ummmm....he's just out there doing his thing. I guess for you to be happy, he should get to 30 and then decide to sit out to let his teammates play more? This is a weak take.
They already played GSW, and beat GSW on the road. They just put up 90 in a half. How many other teams have done...
the cold streak was probably a big part of it. I don’t think Yankee hate had much to do with it though. Nobody got more coverage than Judge and the Yankees.

I think it has to be Goldschmidt. His was the only team who made the playoffs. That's a big deal for me. Stanton could make it close, but I think he really needed to hit 60 to close the gap, as silly of an argument as that is. Numbers like that have an impact on voters.
Obviously I will pick...
Sale's #'s were incredible, and most other years he would win it. 300+ K's are impressive. BUT, Kluber was a machine. He's the clear winner in the AL
Scherzer was the better pitcher than Kershaw. I would personally vote for him. This one will be close. I can see it going either way.
Did they get lucky this year, or did Molitor squeeze every bit he could out of a team that probably wouldnt have made it? I think the fact that they made it is a testimony to a good managing job by Molitor.
Heyman HATES the Astros, so I am not surprised that he didn't call for them to forfeit their place in the playoffs. He's a douche.
This was the right call all the way around. Now the lost wages go to charity, and the World Series wasn't compromised in any way. All the Boos that Gurriel...
I thought I'd get a thread going for the Cy Young awards that will be announced this evening. Should be a good race:
NL: Kershaw / Scherzer / Strasburg
AL: Kluber / Sale / Severino
Who ya got?
I thought I'd get the thread going for the MVP announcement tomorrow.
Altuve vs. Judge in the AL
Goldschmidt vs. Votto vs. Stanton in the NL
Who ya got?
NL voting seemed a little more screwy than the AL. I would have flipped Francona and Hinch in the AL, and flipped Black and Roberts in the NL. Who the hell voted for Maddon?? Jokester....
NL Manager of the Year voting
Torey Lovullo
