That was entirely driven by the amazingness of Kluber and Carrasco. Bauer was pretty much the same exact pitcher hes always been, but he struck out more guys than normal. Salazar actually took a small step backwards. He was a bit unlucky, but I dont think hell turn out better than a solid middle...
They aren't going to sign a Darvish/Arrieta b/c they are trying to stay under the salary cap. Maybe they find another good SP, but I doubt it is one of the top SP. Who knows though, maybe the market crashes and these SP settle for a cheaper 1 year deal
Then who??? I started a thread for this topic b/c it is a good off-season thing to debate.
My thoughts on each mentioned here:
Astros: Great at the top and very solid throughout. Not a weak link.
Indians: Very top heavy, but possibly the best top 2 in baseball (depending how much you...
A comment in the Cole Trade thread sparked a thought: What is the best rotation in baseball??
IMO, it is between the Nationals and the Astros. Someone else threw out the Indians and Yankees (eventually). So to get the discussion going, I will post some stats for response. Using a self-made...
Justin Verlander
Dallas Keuchel
Gerrit Cole
Lance McCullers Jr
Charlie Morton
Best rotation in MLB. Get Strom working with Cole will be a positive for him. Lower expectations. This is more and more exciting the more I think about it.
Great deal for both sides. Moran is ready right now, but has no place on the MLB roster. Musgrove can be a great bullpen piece, or they can try him in the rotation. Feliz is the best prospect of the bunch. His stats last year are misleading. His stuff is electric.
The fact that the Astros got...
After watching last night, that Devin Booker kid is pretty dang good. The Suns need to build around him.
The Rockets defense showed up again last night. Ever since Mbah a Moute went down, the Rockets defense has suffered. They were a top 10 defense prior to his injury.
The Rockets had a...
I agree that most QB's would do well in Alabama's system. I think that argument is separate though from what my original point was.
Original Point: Jalen Hurts is a lot better than people give him credit for. He led his team to a 24-2 record and 2 national title games.
Using the argument...
But that minimizes what these guys actually did in their careers. Are we going to sit back and pretend like they didn't work their butts off to have he success they did? McElroy and Wilson were nobodies on the recruiting landscape and they both won a national title under center. They came in...
yet they clearly were inferior to Alabama. The difference might be slight, but for teams that are of a championship caliber the QB is oftentimes the determining factor for success. Clemson's only loss was one where their QB went down in the first half.
To say that anybody can fit in that...
I agree with a lot fo what you said. If you watched A-Day the last two years then you have seen Jalen throw the ball down the field, and very well...Now, I dont know what to do with spring game performances because half of me thinks that the guys earn their stats, and the other half tells me...
It's funny. Because that couldn't be further from the truth. What cracks me up are all these media types talking about this is right and this is wrong. This is how these players should act....The truth is a lot fo them have their journalism degrees from Syracuse and Virginia, but few of them...
