The season is over and done with but you'd rather base your top 5 current goalies on your own predictions for next season rather than what they've actually done over the last year?
They've won that trade so far only because we haven't seen Coyle in the NHL yet. If he plays to his potential, and there's nothing showing that he won't at least get close to it, San Jose loses.
This shouldn't be much of a shock to anyone here though. We've know/speculated since he went down again last season that it was over.
Really sad too because Savy was a tremendous playmaker and you could clearly see he was missed on the PP.
Okay you can give up 7 runs and get a win as well. I don't know anyone here that is taking great value in wins. Personally, though, I think when it's a guy like Verlander you don't have to completely discount them. He is a main factor in winning games.
Yeah but neither of those guys usually last long into games. Guys like Weaver and Verlander average about 7+IP, which is definitely enough time to factor in a win.
You're too hung up on OBP. Yes, it's a good evaluator but it isn't the only thing. Trumbo is putting up good offensive numbers, as Yanks said, in a weak year for rookie hitters, in the Angels' mediocre offense. That counts for something.
And no, Pineda isn't pitching better than Hellickson...
