I'll give you RBIs are irrelevant when talking about cleanup hitters. But Jacoby wasn't hitting cleanup. He was usually leadoff. Not like he was knocking in Pedroia, Ortiz, or Gonzalez.
Not that Jacoby deserved it over Bautista but I don't think you can just write off Jacoby's RBIs. He deserves...
It was intentional. He obviously meant to hit him. People are confusing intent to hit with intent to injure. Believe me, if he wanted to injure him, he could have.
And I'm not worried about Thomas. He'd be the first to go after the player that tries something with him.
I guarantee you he doesn't regret it. He traded next to nothing for a guy that should have played an important role in this offense.
He sure as hell regrets that said impact hasn't happened though..
