I think that was their premise behind making the deal, but still I do also think they could have gotten a bigger return. Apparently they plan to make a splash in free agency with all that cap space they will have. However, I don't really think they're as big of a draw as they think they are.
He's just better than Ersan in every facet of the game outside of 3pt shooting.
To me, that's a no brainer of a deal.
Only downside is IDK if I want to see Blake as the backup point permanently. Blake is serviceable, but IDK if he will be reliable long term.
I like the move. Hurts our 3pt shooting a bit, but I think Stan will be able to integrate him into the offense pretty well.
Stan is a hell of a GM really. To see what he's done with this roster in such a sort time is remarkable.
I think it's possible that you're right, but he is only 22. I don't think he's ever gonna be a 20+ scorer or anything like that, but I think he will eventually become a bit more consistent offensively. Which I could live with as long as he plays the defense he is playing now.
Meeks provides...
No doubt, he doesn't establish good position downlow at times and he tends to rush the shots as well. But I feel like when I watch him post up I'm starting to expect him to make it more than I do for him to miss it, which isn't something I would've ever said prior to this point in his career...
I was telling my cousin yesterday that I think KCP will stabilize a bit more offensively once Meeks comes back. Dude is just playing way too many minutes right now, and I think he exerts too much energy on the defensive end and that hampers him a bit offensively. He's been very good lately...
Very much so. If he was 100% engaged all of the game he would be so much better, and he's already damn good.
Can tell he's put a lot of work into that post game though. Crazy to think he's still so raw with it. Perhaps he does develop into a good post player. Not great, but good.
Defensively...
