ok, so i looked at the following pitchers: Lester, Quintana, Arrieta, Tanaka, Hamels, Darvish, Cueto, Price, Fernandez, and Noah. I used WAR/IP/ERA/FIP/XFIP to start.
When i looked at the rankings across the starters from 2013 to present I initially have it going Price, Jake, Lester, Cueto...
I will explain my vote happily. I realize it may not follow whatever if any standards folks have on voting but let's make the argument.
Give me some time and I'll get it in here. :)
With the pitching staff and guys like Abreu, Cabrera, Eaton, and Frazier, they really only need a CF and an average catcher and they are right in the playoff hunt. You stating that they are three years away is a bit off. They also continue to have some interesting pitchers coming up and just...
The argument is quite easy. Are the Red Sox even a .500 team against the teams that play .500 or better? The Rangers are 28-30 games over .500 against those upper echelon teams. That pretty much shows against who the Red Sox have been feasting on.
The weakness of the Sale/Sox relationship is serverly overblown by folks that hate the White Sox and/or want Sale on the cheap. Won't be happening. No one will give what it would take or have what it would take. The Cubs have no pitching to offer so they are out. The Red Sox or Dodgers or...
The Cubs don't have enough to get a Chris Sale unless they get serious about parting with active 25 guys.
Realistically the White Sox aren't going to trade any of their top four pitchers (Sale, Q, Gonzales, Rodon). They may part with Fulmer, but that is also unlikely. They need to improve in...
Same reason I took Sale, I take Kluber. More Experience, actually is there to pitch. Has what will be three season in a row with well over 200 innings pitched. It's really not even close for me.
