Dumping CoDick is mind boggling, but then again, his arb figure is going to be more than the small market wants to handle right now. They took in $12M with acqutiring Span and I think ditching CoDick and Odorizzi saves $13M.
Red Sox will have to manufacture runs and rely on their very expensive rotation, if they're going to get into the postseason. This type of baseball requires sound defense.
WCW was great at the height of the NWO but in hindsight, their booking made little sense, PPVs weren’t used to culminate feuds, and a majority of their matches ended with run-ins and DQs.
I remember being such an NWO mark bc I grew up idolizing red & yellow Hogan.
Pritchard’s pod is real good. I just find it funny when Schiavone calls matches today. For me it’s also amazing I didn’t realize how bad WCW’s booking was; even at the height of the NWO.
The problem I have with Nunez is he’s not great defensively. He can move around the infield but he won’t be as good as Marrero would be at 2B. Not sure the Red Sox can afford a hole a 2B, considering how weak at 3B Devers is.
Lincecum threw 20 pitches yesterday for 15 scouts. He was apparently clocking 90-92 with his fastball. Hopefully he holds up. I can see him as an effective 2-inning reliever.
I’m curious to see how his physical goes. That knee may not be tip top. Regardless, I still think not making a big signing this offseason pays off in the long run for the Sox. They managed to win back-to-back AL East titles with one of baseball’s most incompetent managers.
Ziggler is a phenomenal worker and one of the most underrated. Biggest pop WWE had in recent years was Ziggler cashing in on Del Rio...and Dolph was the Cena-hating heel.
You can’t look at overall run totals for a season and draw a consensus. Ultimately the Dodgers scored more runs than opponents, in more games last season than the Cubs. We can agree to disagree but I really don’t get the discounting you’re doing.
Looking at career numbers and expecting "bounce-back" seasons is fine, but not when pitchers progress further into their 30s. Jon Lester is 34 and his velocity is headed south. Darvish is still only 31 but his metrics have inflated more each season. Matter of fact, he's near an ERA of 4.00...
- You need to deep-dive into the numbers. Lester/Darvish/Quintana in 2015 was something to brag about. They're still an excellent rotation on paper but like I said, all three weren't great last season. Consider how expendable Darvish and Quintana suddenly became to their former clubs.

On the grand scale, I don't think so. Bare in mind the number of players on rosters in the enormous college football landscape. There's 129 schools in FBS alone. I don't think it's accurate to hear about a bunch of criminal cover-ups inside Art Briles's Baylor program and assume "it happens...
Egregious as in, “The Cubs bullpen was egregious in 2017”, or is it more like, “The Cubs offense was egregious in 2017”. Or perhaps it’s more like, “Joe Maddon made some egregiously bad calls last season”.
