" Sources from rival teams interested in Familia told The Athletics Jim Bowden (subscription required) that they didnt know why the Mets didnt approach them one final time to give them a chance to top Oaklands offer."
Look, the general consensus is the Mets got a subpar return for Familia. That...
Toffey is batting. 244 in high A at 24, Wahl is 26. May be a decent middle reliever, but hes had thoracic surgery. I'm not expecting much out of either player tbh.
The international slot money is good though, and can go a long way. I cant hate this.
though Wahl had Thoracic outlet surgery last year, and that concerns me.
I never understood that argument tbh. A teams success shouldn't determine if a player is valuable. It's the same reason we are beginning to hold less value in a pitchers win/loss record.
A players value shouldn't be determined by what is around him.
Cespedes said he has a heel injury that requires surgery and 8-10 months rehab, but isn't sure if he wants the surgery yet (even though now is the perfect time to do it and lose as little time next season).
Mets apparently had no clue about this until he told reporters last night.
LOL fucking...
I used to be against the idea of a hard cap, but in coming around to it. The Mets would benefit from it, but do they really deserve it?
Seriously though, I think even big market teams would be for it. They dont want to go in to the luxury tax, and as this past winter proved teams aren't going...
hes really not though. .241 average with us. hes 36 and had back issues last year.
If teams wanted him I dont think he would have wound up on the Mets.
