Only one year above .300 and an iffy career OBP. Being in his prime is the one catalyst for a good deal.
He also has a wRC+ of 156 this year and has been above 130 the last two of three years.

If he would also get over his ego of wanting to play short, hes one of the best fielding third baseman behind Chapman and Arenado

Well I have to say my Red Sox are just amazing right now, even though I'm away and can't watch them. I still fear the Yankees but love this lead we have over them at the moment.

And youre willing to change your opinion of the past 5 years based on 78 games?

Nope. Like I said this year.

Results vary year over year. And this year Betts has played as well as Trout.

You said best player in baseball. My question was, has he played better enough that Trout through half the season that he can take away the title Trout has held for 5 years?

(Hint, the answer is a resounding no)

Mookie:

wRC+ 199
WAR 6.4
OBP .444
SLUG .682
OPS 1.126
wOBA .466
ISO .328

Trout
wRC+ 184
WAR 6.4
OBP .450
SLUG .599
OPS 1.049
wOBA .434
ISO .292

Plus they have equal offensive value per Fangraphs and Betts wins baserunning and defense. In 19 less games. Betts has been better than Trout.

So they have the same offensive value, Betts is better at base running and defense, yet they still share the same WAR

Yes clearly Betts is better, my mistake

Also on BR, trout leads in WAR

Just saying. Mookie is close but you can't say definitively that he's better than trout (yet)

And again, id have jose as mvp anyways

The same guys who called JBJ the second best center fielder in baseball calling Mookie Betts the best player in baseball. Its a never ending cycle
