Is Oklahoma City simply conceding that they aren't going to win a championship with Russ at this point? They might as well just trade him, too. Time for a clean slate, but you would think such a small market would run the risk of putting their franchise under.
Man, does this suck. I was really hoping he'd run it back with Toronto. Toronto will be happy with their first championship, but I think this might prevent teams from doing that kind of trade ever again. They now have a firsthand example of an entire organization providing everything and more to...
^I'm with CC. Simmons should be traded while he's still effective. As long as he can't score, his game will peak and descend. Get rid of him while he still has perceived value.
Kid needs his head deflated. That's for damn sure.
He destroyed the competiveness of a professional sport that fans pay hard earned money to support. He owes everybody who loves basketball. The guy's decision to sign with GSW was the most pathetic thing we've seen in basketball history.
Durant owed it to the game of basketball and its fans to leave GSW. Injury or not, fuck this guy for nearly making the entire NBA season arbitrary for 3 straight years.
Conley being a fundamental-based player whose game shouldn't badly deteriorate with age, this is a good deal for Utah even though he's 31. At least he and Gasol will get to play relevant basketball, now.
Where do they send Rubio?
Klay got hurt tonight? I didn't see that, but there was a portion of the second half I missed.
I'm so happy for Kyle Lowry. I cannot find words to suffice, guys. I'm on cloud 9.
It's not a good look. No player deserves that. Weren't they giving him a good cheer when he was assisted off the court too, though?
No KD until end of season next year, and maybe not even then. That is crazy
I have to say, if my favorite player in Lowry wins a championship, I'll feel quite good about it. Not my team, but that dude's been my favorite NBA player for years. And Draymond is a close second. That's made the Warriors success tolerable, but fuck Kevin Durant, man.
If Toronto pulls this off, it SHOULD be great for basketball on a macro level. Problem is, it could inspire KD to stay with the Warriors and turn it into a micro, small scale victory for the game.
KD has to leave, man. These last 3 years have been so awful.
Toronto was cold, man. Wow. And great second half adjustments by Kerr.
I also admire how Toronto kept Curry from getting a shot when Iggy daggered them. At least make someone else make a shot. Iggy did it, but him wide open is a better option than Steph at all.
I wouldn't call it a stinker from anything but a scoring perspective. Still had 8-9 assists, 6 rebounds, +11. He made an impact. That late, deep 3 was an emphatic dagger, too.
I do think he'll score more than 7 from here on out.
