I wouldn't mind it but he's past his prime and sometimes it is a little too late. It'd be perfect for his career though, to end where it started. I wonder how fans would take it though.

I would love to see that. Not sure if the fans would welcome him back though.

i know the fans freaking hate him the way things ended

but i would love to see him end his career in Toronto

time heals all wounds
he signs with them, says some nice things at the press conference, and the fans would be fine

he has nothing to gain from this and they don't either. as a fan of my hometown team that is obsessed with hanging on to the past, forget about him ending his career there. no real point.

go ring chase and at your HOF ceremony say some great things and he'll be loved.

He probably wants to gain some respect from us in Toronto - misses being loved by Toronto. He was our greatest player ever.

he dont need to go back just for that, though. hes going to have his jersey retired regardless. he has time to make it up to them but he doesn't need to go back just because.

I don't think he'd have his jersey retired unless he gained his respect back. I mean he might see it as something important. I think ring chasing or finishing in Toronto are both fine ideas. Especially if Toronto is a playoff team 2-3 years from now.

I don't know man. With me it takes more class to have your jersey retired. I mean the city hates him too much to see his name in the rafters.

Eh I wouldn't mind seeing him in the rafters but I think you gotta be a great player to be in the rafters (act and skill). He put us on the map but he also left us dry. Why should Toronto have to see his name after that?

the same reason cleveland will retire lebrons jersey, same reason we retired rodmans and will retire bens jersey. they were great for your team and despite how they left or acted they were still great for the team.

It just wouldn't feel right for him to be the first jersey we ever retire, even if he loves Toronto and all. And Big Ben won a championship with ya'll, you definitely need to retire his jersey. I think Lebron having his jersey is more likely to happen in Miami than in Cleveland, at least in my opinion.

I'll give you that but the best moment VC had with the Raptors was probably just the 2000 dunk contest if we're being honest. He brought us far in the playoffs but he could have had better moments but our management sucked. If only he and T-Mac meshed and stayed in Toronto together. Oh man lol.

I don't know if I expect Vince Carter to be a HOFer, honestly.

I gotcha. Personally, if I as a fan could withhold certain players from the HOF, VC would be right at the top of my list. I kind of feel like he misused his talents, a bit. Especially after the "better than Jordan" proclamation which was absurd.

Speaking of starting off in Toronto, what kind of player would TMac still be if he'd never had his knee injuries? I don't think I've ever seen a more heartbreaking derailing in my life. He got to taste greatness, and then it was taken from him to the point that he's a role player, at best. This really is too bad.

Brandon Roy is in that book, too. I'm glad he's back, though.

i think we had a big discussion on tmac a while back. had he never had those injuries we may have been seeing him at the top of the league for best player and potentially holding scoring records much like kobe.
