Rockets acquiring young players for a blockbuster trade

Daryl Morey has positioned the Rockets for a blockbuster move after amnestying Luis Scola and selecting Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones with the Nos. 12, 16 and 18 picks of last month’s draft.

Beyond Lamb, White and Jones, the Rockets could use a combination of 2011 draft picks Marcus Morris, Donatas Motiejunas and Chandler Parsons in a potential trade for Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum.

“It’s very similar to what Boston did,” Morey said in reference to the Celtics’ 2008 trade for Kevin Garnett. “Hopefully, it will yield the same result.”

Houston is likely to have at least one lottery pick next summer, and could have another from Toronto as well.

“We’ll be very well set up in a year,” Morey said.

Al Jefferson went on to be a 21-11 player though. Nobody on the Rockets has that potential.

Yeah it wouldn't be to smart to risk some potentially good role players for someone who likely bolts. I don't see Lakers dealing Bynum to Houston unless its part of a three team deal where Lakers land Dwight Howard

There is no way either player drops 21 and 11 any time soon.

In his first season of actually getting playing time he put up 14/6 a game. He's only 23. He got paid so much because of the ability he showed last year and an upside to go with it. It's not like he came out of no where at age 30 and will never get better.

It took Al quite a few years before he became even remotely consistent. Let's not act like he was a stud right off the get in Boston. Just like Terrence and Royce will do, Al showed potential. Right away.

Perfect blend of a guy with a good story, a weak part of the schedule, a team suffering from injuries, a coach that was getting ready to be fired, and the New York media. Lets also not ignore the fact that after D'Antoni left the team his numbered dropped to about 13 points, 5 assists, 42% from the field, and 4 turnovers per game.

Not to even mention, his biggest advantage is his ability to play the pick and roll game. Something like 48% of his points and 59% of his assists came from the pick and roll. Teams started throwing different defenses at him to guard the pick and roll and that's when his play suffered.

Nobody's trying to say that Lin is an all-star or anything though! He is a good point guard. His turnovers are definitely too high, but like cheato said, he's 23! As a starter he was like 18 and 8 and you're gonna say he isn't good?
