They're in the ECF but they're not actually legit title contenders, which sounds funny for a team just one series away from making it, but it's the truth. Being stubborn and getting nothing in return for the former Big 3 could cost the Celtics deeply in the future just because they wanted to lose in the ECF a few more years.
They only got to the ECF because DRose got injured. Bulls would have killed us.

But this is exactly what I'm trying to say. When the Celtics win the NBA Finals over the Spurs/Thunder, I will admit you are right CC. Until then, I'm staying by that we needed to trade our value when they had value. It might already be too late.

The Celtics won 1 championship with this core and it could have been more had they not had an injury to a major player in every postseason after. But I'll play along. Alright bosox. Tell me, what do you think they could have gotten.

Couldn't they have gotten the Nets lotto pick for Pierce?

I just never thought Bynum was going to stay healthy. You really can't say Stuckey is that good he's a decent scorer who shoots low percentages on a bad team. Y'all were talking about how he was going to be an all-star.

And I remember StateofMind from way back told me Kelenna Azubuike was going to be a stud and look how that turned out.

Well you also thought Redick would be a stud too. We all make mistakes.

Stud? I wouldn't go that far. I said he was going to be a good pro which is much more than anybody on this board was willing to give him credit for.

Well if you are picked 11th, aren't you assumed to be a "good pro."

I said he isn't an 11th pick talent, not that he wasn't worthy of the 11th pick in that draft since it was a weak ass draft.

In a good draft, he is a mid-late first. NBA has many players who can shoot a bit above average and play defense slightly above average.

Oh alright, I misunderstood I guess. But yeah hard to say where he would have went in the draft in a better draft because he had such a great college career. Could've been back part of the lottery regardless.

Anyways, here's the GOAT post from the past, our very own RipCity32 on the Chauncey Billups for Allen Iverson deal:

I love this deal. And I think anyone who doesn't think it's good, it's just the inner hate and fear of Detroit showing.

Alright so we don't have Billups anymore. And yes I agree Iverson is not a true 100% PG. But he still plays the PG spot, and is one of the best PG's in the league. One of the best scorers in the league. You can't just look pass that. And I feel Curry will do a great job keeping AI in check.

Detroit lacks that WOW player on their team, and we got it. We finally have a go to player, who we can depend on scoring for us night in and night out.

Then we have Sheed and AI expiring at the end of the year. We will get much cap relief. And possibly a legit shot at LBJ and company if we don't go out and spend the money.

Dyess will most likely get a buy-out. And I can see Joey D picking him back up with the veterns minimum.

This trade WILL work. Dumars may have done it again.

I think in 2008 most Pistons fans had complete faith in Joe Dumars.
